There are so many things to do in Paroa, but head farther afield and you'll find more sightseeing magic. Rent a set of wheels and you can cruise around the surrounding area at your leisure. Add these awesome destinations to your to-do list:

• Christchurch is approximately 100 miles from Paroa. Notable attractions like Lyttelton Harbour should be at the top of your list while you're in town.
• Next stop? It has to be Ashburton, which is around 100 miles away. Ashburton Domain is one local highlight you really shouldn't miss.
• Find your way to Mount Victoria Lookout to reconnect with nature. Take a picnic to enjoy or just chill out in the fresh air. From Paroa, it's around 200 miles away.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in New Zealand, then you'll likely need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country in order to rent a car. You should also be aware that if you do need an IDP, it won't be valid on its own. You'll have to show your current license your passport and other forms of documentation as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some other requirements to rent a car internationally are:
