![Wolfeton House South Front A rough track leads off the main Dorchester - Yeovil road at the end of which is a magnificent C16 manor house. Like many such houses, it has had quite a chequered architectural history, with the oldest surviving parts, being the south front completed in 1528, and the gatehouse (extreme right), dating from 1534. The ancestral home of the Trenchard family, it survives today having been rescued from dereliction by the present owners. “The house was set back from the main house and the main road. This house was one of 3 mews, recently built at the back of the main house with an access road leading up to the mews. Parking wasn't a problem.The house was very warm with toilet and basin downstairs and a bathroom with both bath tub and shower upstairs. The 2 bedrooms had double and king size beds and third bedroom had 3 large single beds. All the people in our party of 6 liked the house.From the house, all the site seeing……
