It did not disappoint; excellent and helpful staff, brilliant location with an easy walk to the old city, a private secure car park, quiet comfortable room, and a good breakfast. "Lovely friendly couple who run the place and gave us a great breakfast mainly of home made things. Very nicely decorated (not surprising as she was an interior designer before she retired to the SouthWest of France) and extremely welcome swimming pool."

"This is a very central hotel, and at first glance is very much in the traditional mould. However everything is modern, comfortable and works. There's even a pool and the breakfast was very good. The parking is limited but there's (paid) public parking right outside. Overall very good value for money."
"This is a lovely little hotel in a quiet area of Bergerac but very close to the railway station.
My room was very comfortable and clean with a good bathroom that was also very clean.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good.
I would definitely stay there again."
"Whilst this was only an overnight stay, we were so impressed that we are already planning our next trip to include the La Gambetta. Perfectly located in the centre of Bergerac, with everything you need within a very short stroll, there's not much more you could ask for. Fantastic service and attention."
"Excellent apartment for 2, would be tight for more than that. Great location though in a lovely city, very handy for the centre, river and train tours, train station and local amenities.The hosts live above the apartment and are lovely, we had an excellent introduction and were largely left alone to enjoy our stay.The property description was spot on, the flat had everything you'd need for a stay.Thanks!"
"Booked a room for seven nights, but checked out after the first night. It was incredibly hot that week, around 105 degrees. The room had no air conditioning, or fans. The windows could not be open during the evening because there were no screens in the windows and with the mosquitoes and bats flying around that was not an option. It was cooler outside than in the room.
When I decided to check out the following day the staff were apologetic, but there was nothing they could do.
The resort, as of now has not offered a refund for the remaining six nights."

"The house is simply beautiful, everything you could wish for is there and it was spotlessly clean. The location is also perfect, quiet with the lovely garden and pool not overlooked but a short ten minute walk to the many restaurants and shops in Bergarac. It really is a perfect place to stay. "
"We had a terrible start to our vacation due to a late flight, we had to catch a late train and we were unsure if we could even check in. Owner was able to help us. We’re very appreciative, this trip could’ve been awful but the owner turned it around into a good trip. Thank you. "
