Top Colomers Hotel Reviews

Silken Platja d'Aro

Silken Platja d'Aro

10/10 Excellent
"The atmosphere at this splendid hotel was so inviting and peaceful that regardless of how your day was going you couldn't help but relax. From the spa-like bathroom with all the little extras, like a toothbrush and toothpaste, incase you'd forgotten them, to the comfortable bed, cute little patio area and quiet rooms. The lobby area had several comfortable little seating nooks, providing a nice place to read a book with a cup of tea or wait for a friend to grab you for dinner. The pool area and bar was a wonderful place to soak in the sunshine. The staff were friendly and helpful. I wish the pool had been heated (consider installing solar power heating in future maybe) as even in late Oct it was hot enough for a swim, but I enjoyed the lounge chairs and huge patio area regardless. The only other suggestion would be to adjust the room doors so they don't slam shut but otherwise you couldn't hear anything in your room. The hotel was clean, well kept and a little oasis on the Costa Brava. I can't wait to return."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Colomers?
The best area to stay in Colomers is within the village center itself, particularly around the Plaça Major.

This area is the heart of Colomers, characterized by its historic stone buildings and narrow, winding streets. The Plaça Major, or main square, is a central gathering point and often features a local cafe or restaurant. The village is small and easily walkable, offering a tranquil setting for those looking to experience rural Catalonia.

Couples seeking a peaceful and romantic getaway will find this area ideal. The quiet streets and traditional architecture provide a charming backdrop for relaxation, and it's a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside and the nearby Ter River.

Travelers interested in local culture and a slower pace will appreciate staying directly in Colomers.
When is the best time to go to Colomers?
The best time to visit Colomers is during the spring (April to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities.

Spring brings mild temperatures, typically ranging from 60°F to 75°F (15°C to 24°C), making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region, such as hiking or cycling along the Ter River. The landscape is lush and green, and you'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months. This period is particularly good for active travelers and those who appreciate comfortable weather for sightseeing.

Early autumn also offers agreeable weather, with temperatures similar to spring, usually between 65°F and 78°F (18°C to 26°C). The harvest season adds a unique local flavor, with vineyards and orchards in full swing. This time is excellent for couples seeking a relaxed getaway, perhaps enjoying local cuisine and wines without the intense summer heat.

While summer (July and August) can be warm, often exceeding 85°F (30°C), it's also a popular time, especially for families looking to enjoy water activities on the river or nearby beaches.
