We adore this place and we've stayed so many times now that it feels like a home away from home. The very old thatched inn (dating from 1370) is absolutely beautiful and set in a gorgeous and tiny Devon village. The food is always freshly cooked and excellent, including the breakfasts, and the couple who run it are so welcoming. Of course the main attraction is the 41 year old and very chatty parrot, Captain! The hosts are fantastic and make you feel so welcome, their home-cooked food is just amazing (and extremely generous portions!), and the beds are just so comfortable that we get the best night's sleep. The location is perfect as it's so quiet and quaint - although Devon Council should really support their local businesses by mending the excessive potholes in the approach roads!!
