Family Friendly Vacation or Romantic Weekend!

Our cabin sits along the Little Juniata Creek - a hidden gem in Central PA. It's perfect for trout fishing (with a PA License) or exploring with little ones. We are situated on 8 wooded acres at the bottom of a dirt road secluding you from the modern world. But, fear not, Wifi is available for those that want to stay plugged in. We have a hand built fire pit perfect for roasting marshmallows and ghost stories. There is a picnic table under the pavilion for outdoor dining.

The cabin itself is fully equipped for home cooked meals (we also provide a grill). Basic necessities are also provided to get you started. For groceries, there are several options within a 15 minute drive. There is a TV with cable and a game cube for the kids, just in case it rains. Their is NO CELL SERVICE in or around the cabin. If you can’t make calls over WiFi with your phone, you’ll need to walk up the road a bit until you get a cell signal.

If you're looking for things to do off the property, the Susquehanna and Juniata Rivers are both within 15 min. The Susquehanna provides excellent fishing while the Juniata is great for tubing, kayaking or canoeing. Nearby outfitters can set you up with a variety of adventures. The capitol of Harrisburg is less than 30 minutes away. So, if you're looking for more diverse dining options, there are lots of choices. There's shopping, a science center and museum. In addition, City Island is home to the Harrisburg Senators (Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals). Hollywood Casino/Racetrack is 35 minutes away. Hershey Park is only 40 min. Last, but not least, Penn State is just over an hour - we're perfect for game weekend!

Please be aware that even though we're secluded, you're in the middle of a sportsman's paradise. There is a gun range a short distance away, so there could be shooting. If you are interested, we can direct you to the range or there are numerous state gamelands for hunting, depending on what season it is. We've had deer, fox, ducks, heron and bear on our property. We've even started to see Eagles flying over the creek lately.

We are located approximately .7 mile down an unpaved, dirt road. It may seem a bit daunting at first, but we have yet to find a vehicle that could not make it down and up that road. Drive slowly and you'll be fine!

Great cabin with everything you need. Beautiful property with a big firepit and provided wood. Beautiful creek with a swing to enjoy the view. Perfect place for us to get away for some R and R with our dog. We would definitely come back again!

Great for fishermen
We loved the secluded cabin with a trout stream in the backyard and more fishing nearby. We also really enjoyed the fire pit and all the wood the hosts provided for it.

Beautiful surroundings
Walked outside the 2nd morning to see ducks on the creek and birds singing in the trees with the sun shining through after rains. Gorgeous. However, for these over 65 yr old bodies with back and hip issues, a big consideration in my choosing Creekside was the furniture which was not as shown online. The bed was almost too high to get into with no stool. Also, upon leaving after previous rain, the steepest part of the unpaved road took us 5 tries to get up. In spite of these things, we would have greatly enjoyed this property before our physical issues.

Great property, very secluded, and the best part is they have everything you would possibly need. The only downfall, if one, is the road in and out. But if you don’t leave it’s not too bad. Just make sure you take everything you need. Dogs and kids had a great time in the creek and the cabin itself was beautiful inside and very welcoming.

Perfect Family get away
The property is better than the pictures (and they're pretty good too!). My 5 year old had a blast playing the in creek, riding his bike on the lane, running RC cars, picking up sticks with my pap for the fire (kindling and firewood were provided but you know kids). My pap was in his element keeping a fire going. My MIL and I enjoyed sitting on the swing by the creek. My hubby took a long bike ride through the country and enjoyed that as well. Our 2 goldens had the time of their lives. Tim was absolutely great, as well. He checked on us after a tunderstorm and made sure the lane was repaired, worried about my MILs car getting back out. (She had no problems in her Honda Accord). We really appreciated him. The cabin itself is beautifully decorated. Every day we noticed a new little detail. Rae did a great job. This was our most relaxing vacation yet and we look forward to returning.

Best place to find some quiet
When we started looking for a place to rent for a week; we had a few things we were looking for specifically. Quiet, semi-secluded (as in not right by traffic but not overly far from stores/activities), area for playing, and a fire pit. This place met every bullet point and then some! We had an absolutely fantastic time. Even with all the rain, we really enjoyed our stay! Tim & Rae are AMAZING hosts and communication was fast & easy! We look forward to returning for another relaxing & much-needed time away in the future. 10/10 recommend. I do suggest a vehicle that is all-wheel drive as the road down is bumpy but it's so worth it in my opinion! If you have kids, there is plenty of room to run and play at the cabin but there is also a nearby park! Thank you Tim & Rae for a memorable experience for our family (:

We Keep Coming Back!!

Wonderful little vacation
Thank you so much for a wonderful time staying at your cabin. The hosts were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The cabin was clean, cute, and the perfect size for me and my partner. I appreciated the wood available for the fire pit. The road leading up to the cabin was very difficult for my small car, but this was specified in the description beforehand. My husband and son were showing my sons car in Carlisle. They broke down on the way and was delayed getting to the house. I messaged Rae and she said no worries they would leave all the lights on so they could find it easier. She was very helpful. They really enjoyed their stay. We love this cabin!
We love staying at this cabin! It truly is a hidden gem! It is private, clean, well equipped and very peaceful! We go to escape from the noise and busyness of life. We enjoy staying on the property, relaxing by the creek or the fire pit, listening for and watching birds and walking around the property. The owners are wonderful! This was our fourth time here and we plan on returning next year.

Terrific Cabin in the woods
Stayed for 6 days in the gorgeous cabin. The property is well maintained and sitting by the creek or at the campfire was very relaxing! The cottage is clean and the decor is perfect! I especially loved the bathroom vanity and mirror! We will definitely be back for another stay!
