"First of all the staff were always polite and extremely helpful. The front desk people booked an excursion to Amalfi and Positano by boat at our request with pick up at our marina. "This hotel was incredible! The views, the room, the details, everything was on point and the staff were very helpful. My wife and I enjoyed every moment of our stay and the walkabilty to the rest of Sorrento was a major bonus. The private pool and beach dock areas were relaxing and the staff were quick with drinks and towels. The sunsets on the terrace we magical and really set the mood of being in paradise. We will be staying here again when we return to Sorrento in the future."

"The location was incredible (5 minute walk from train station, 15 minute walk to the ferry port, 8 minute walk to the main tourist street). Room was clean, breakfast was decent, staff was helpful. There is an elevator and air conditioning. Seemed a little pricey for the hotel itself but the central location is part of what you’re paying for."

"We had a sea view room - the view was lovely but the room itself was very dated and a bit dusty, with a coffee cup stained dresser and a shower that didn’t train well due to being clogged with hair. At first our door wasn’t secure - even when locked you could push it open. The maintenance man fixed the lock by pushing back the mechanism with his screwdriver! A temporary fix for sure. The staff were lovely, very polite and helpful. The pool and terrace area was also very enjoyable, though there was one day we were unable to use the facilities due to a private party, so that meant having to pay more money to go elsewhere which was disappointing, and had this been disclosed at booking I would have booked a different hotel. It was quite noisy at night due to local elections with speeches going on until 11pm, and the walls and ceilings at the hotel were paper thin - you could hear everything going next to you and above you, which woke my partner up at 5am each morning. Overall it was a pleasant stay but if I were to return I would request a room in the renovated part of the hotel."

"The Grand Hotel Excelsior Amalfi is situated higher up in Amalfi with stunning views. The hotel staff are very helpful and the free hotel shuttle to and from Amalfi city centre is a plus. The hotel room charge includes breakfast that is quite good. The pool is nice and clean. We were guests mid-May so did not get to go to their private beach. I highly recommend this hotel!"

"The hotel was outstanding! Definitely a five star, the breakfast was very good, I would not recommend the Bistro for dinner there are better restaurants in town. The service was world class and very detailed, turn down service with chocolates and other details. The views from the room were amazing it made it a place I would definitely return to. The staff was very professional, we were greeted at the car and walked in and taken to our room, showed everything in the room and explained all of the things about the hotel. Very detailed and professional!"
