Perfect

Three friends came to bask in the beauty of the redwoods and this house felt more like a home. Beautiful quiet location. Private rooms for each of us and a dream kitchen for us to cook in. We were out so much I wished we were home more to enjoy the house and backyard. I would love to stay here again.

Exceptional

Book it!! This home and it's surroundings are amazing.. so peaceful,relaxing and beautiful... This home has everything you want.. we spent alot of our time on the deck listening to the sound of the water flowing,the birds singing, and enjoying the beautiful flowers. We enjoyed sitting by a fire in the evenings.. The homeowners answered any questions we had quickly and very helpful.. This home made us feel very comfortable.. we enjoyed taking in the local sites including going to the Redwoods state park and seeing the beautiful huge trees, breathtaking forsure.. we stopped at the local market for ice cream!! We thank you for sharing your home with us..

Beautiful Stay

Excellent location. Communication with owner is excellent, friendly, helpful. Beds are a bit uncomfortable, not terrible. Views, fire pit, house layout and kitchen layout are perfect!

Heaven!

We could not have picked a more perfect location & property for our vacation! The description & pictures truly do not do it justice! The host was easy to communicate with & he provided us with not only any & all info relative to our stay, but also dining recommendations & history of the property. The home has a special charm, is beautifully appointed, & is cozy & comfy. We only ate out twice while there, as I love to cook. I have never rented a home with a kitchen so well stocked…I had a blast preparing meals! The scenery is simply breathtaking, with the river right off the deck. So many things to do nearby. The Redwood National Park entrance was less than 10 minutes from the house. The neighborhood is quiet & the house felt secluded. We made new friends with the neighbors across the street & enjoyed entertaining on our deck! Crescent City is less than 30 minutes & worth visiting. The Battery Point Lighthouse was a worthy excursion. We can highly recommend the Seaquake Brewery in Crescent City, as well as the Hiouchi Cafe between Gasquet & Hiouchi. We definitely plan to return! Thank you, Dean, for being the quintessential host!

Beautiful River View

Our stay was a 103 birthday celebration for my mother. All of us enjoyed the deck and river view tremendously. We all had to be careful walking to the front door because of the loose and uneven stepping stones.

Sister Getaway

My two sisters and I had a wonderful stay at the Smith River house. Everything we needed was provided. We enjoyed fires each night in the outdoor fireplace. We can’t wait to go back in the spring when the the river is full. Thank you.

Beautiful

We four adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wild River home. It was a combination of old stone and log home, upgraded beautifully. There was everything you need and more. We loved sitting out on the deck by the gently flowing river. We were very careful not to light any fires as we visited during a hot, dry time. We loved the access to all great Redwood groves and enjoyed the hosts's recommendation for breakfast in Hiouchi and dinner in Crescent City. A truly special home. Thank you.

Spectacular Smith

Birthday celebration along the spectacular Smith River. For the last 50 years I try to make it there to rejuvenate in the water and redwoods. Such a slice of heaven. Love staying in this home and have done so several times. House is very comfortable, laid out great, so clean and brand new kitchen! River is out the back door

Dreamy River Home

Oh my goodness, this home was the absolute favorite of all the places we stayed in our 3 week road trip! I told my husband we found out the perfect place for our retirement home!( I wish) From the moment we walked into the home was like stepping back into time. It was built in the 40’s but has all the modern amenities. Kitchen was a dream kitchen and eating outside on the deck in the morning and evening was our favorite place to spend time. It’s even better than the photos!

My family and I stayed for a visit to the redwoods. The home is beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking meals. The beds were comfortable. We would stay again.

Comfy River House

Great location between river and sea. We live nearby so the location and lifestyle fit like a glove. The house is comfortable, well decorated with cool vintage style furniture, and includes all the modern amenities. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to make a tasty meal...then you get to eat it on the back deck while you watch the river flow past toward the setting sun Owner was communicative, friendly and available if you have any questions. Book it, pack the things you need to enjoy time on the river, shed your work skin and Go!

Awesome getaway!

This property was amazing and our family had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the sound of the river behind the house. The house was fully equipped with everything you could need and the beds were so comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
