“The accommodation is tired and needs updating. The rooms are very basic and were not very clean. The bathroom needs to be completely refurbished. The staff were helpful and pleasant but overall not a pleasant stay and would not recommend staying there”

“Quiet room though we were on the ground floor and had no view. Staff very friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were fine; the best onion bhajis of my life so they are THOROUGHLY recommended. We went in the sauna and the outdoor hot tub- that was amazing. All in all, a good stay and I would definitely return.”

“I chose this hotel to be near the racecourse. It is 30sec away. There is one even nearer but it is a Holiday Inn Express. Potential guests should understand this is an 'unstaffed' hotel. No kitchen, no meals and no concierge. You have a keypad for the main door and another one for your room. You let yourself in and out. And there is a machine where you can leave a tip! “We had a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and were shown to the room which was clean and bright. The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards. Continental breakfast was served promptly at 8 am and the addition of fresh strawberries and blueberries was a definite plus! Check in / check out was swift and efficient. “This is the best stay I have had away from home. The host was so welcoming, it was like visiting a close friend. Well taken care of. I was in Shrewbury for a Triathlon, and had to be taken to hospital. The host took in my bike from UK Triathlon who delivered it to help me. Breakfast was brililant. And the room was MASSIVE.
