“The property is set in a lovely location, which wasn’t an issue obviously. Our problem was, and this maybe a communication issue, but on the Expedia website it said we couldn’t check in until 4pm. No problem. We had also booked an evening meal as we’d of crossed the Channel and driven 300 miles by the time we’d of arrived at the B&B. So when we contacted the owner enroute more out of courtesy than anything else, we were surprised to be told that we couldn’t have an evening meal after 7pm. In……

“This is a simple country Hôtel in a small village. There is not much traffic here and the door was actually locked when we arrived. Some knocking brought the friendly proprietor who carried my bag to the second floor and even called ahead to a local restaurant to be sure we had a table before they closed. Breakfast was simple but good, with an offer of cooked to order eggs.”
