Communication with the host was great...at first. They accommodated us for an additional night as we wanted to come to Myrtle Beach early for a wedding. Upon arrival, we noticed the resort was a little older and out-dated, but that was no big deal at all. We were only staying for a few days anyway. However, upon entering our suite, the room was sticky, the sheets were damp from the humidity and there was condensation on things because the air conditioner didn't work, and the icing on the cake was that there were roaches in the room. I texted the host letting them know and the response was that they'd let maintenance know and that the air stops working because of the condensation in the room.Unfortunately, we couldn't stay there. I had to book a different resort. I texted the host and let them know that we were leaving and didn't get a response except "I will let management know." I was understanding that we did stay the one night as we arrived at 2am and had nowhere else to go, so I wasn't expecting a refund for that day, just the remaining days we couldn't stay. The host ignored me for dayssent photos of the roaches and finally got a response of "those are palmetto bugs. They are common in the south." Which, if you google it, Palmetto bug is literally just another term for a roach. After being incredibly patient I finally had to get a hold of VRBO to get an issue refunded. 10/10 do not recommend.
