They picked us up from right off the ferry with all our luggage and helped us rent scooters right away and then to their hotel. We actually felt like family during our 4 days there. Breakfast was quite nice and fresh each morning with eggs, fruit, 2 kinds of special bread, salad and a meat. Coffee and tea and hot or cold filtered water were always available.

Paps is a retired tuna captain and it appears his family runs the place. He’s always out front chewing betel nut and keeping an eye on his water. Does not get more local than this. "We rented scooters and parking is right at the doorstep. The area is really convenient with lots of dining, shopping and massage options within walking distance. It’s a self-service hotel and we ran into some difficulties during check-in. Thankfully, a sister hotel is just a block down and a staff came over to help after we gave them a ring. The room was nicely laid out, but there were some issues (although none was a deal breaker) - the corners of the upper bunk bed was slight dusty (a common problem for hotels with bunk beds, I’ve experience it even in Japan and Switzerland), the shower foam dispenser came loose. "

The downtown location is unbeatable and the hotel has its own parking lot across the street, solving the parking question.
