Satellite Internet provides FREE high speed, unlimited connection to the rest of the world while providing entertainment via large Samsung televisions w/ FREE Netflix, Amazon and AppleTV. Two bedrooms are tucked away so guests can escape to a private space when desired. Heated “under blankets” on the beds in cooler months add an extra level of comfort & coziness. A large bathroom hosts a shower/tub combination, lighted mirror w/ lots of hot water & excellent water pressure. One-level living makes it easy for everyone — especially those with physical limitations.

MAIN LIVING AREA:
Large windows facing Lake Superior could be the perfect place for reflection with a cup of tea or glass of wine. Count one million stars or search for the Northern Lights on a clear, dark night. Or curl up on the large sectional sofa with a bowl of popcorn and binge watch a favorite AppleTV Series or Netflix movie. The fireplace adds heat and coziness on a cool evening. This is YOUR time so do whatever you want!

THE GREAT OUTDOORS:
Could the outdoor spa be the perfect place to enjoy a starlit night showered under the Northern Lights? Well…YES! The spa (hot tub) is located just out the front door on the deck overlooking Lake Superior. Could there be a more perfect place for it? NO! Or perhaps you prefer to wrap up in a woolen blanket next to the outdoor fire table on a cool, summer evening or crisp autumn night?

Of course we love options…so there happens to be this well lit meandering path from the house that leads to an outdoor wood-burning fire pit close to the shoreline - so maybe don’t forget the marshmallows? Here you will also find OUR favorite: THE LOWER DECK, which literally hangs over Lake Superior and provides the most INCREDIBLE panoramic views. Watch for sailboats and loons to pass by and get your daily dose of vitamin D the natural way.

Comfy Getaway!
This is an incredibly clean, comfortable and relaxing place to stay right on Lake Superior. The amenities are wonderful: a hot tub on the deck for watching the sun rise in the morning, a patio over the water, bonfire pit and sunny places to sit (especially in warmer weather!). Perfect for unwinding!

Beautful view
The view was amazing! The porch was good. The hot tub was nice, but a little low on water. The speed at getting hot tap water was GREAT! Since there was no dishwater, my hubby (the dish washer) was a little disappointed in the size of the dish rack. Although there’s two acres, there’s still moderately close neighboring houses easily seen in winter. The owner was very responsive which we appreciated.

Beautiful
The cottage was a beautiful getaway that I highly recommend. It is very quiet, no city or traffic noise at all so you can relax and hear nothing but the water of Lake Superior. Cottage is very clean, bright and has every last detail to make your stay cozy. From decor and automatic evening lighting both inside and out, to crisp towels and soft bedding. Everything is there to make you feel cozy and at home.

Restorative
My husband, brother and I savored our week's stay. The cottage was immaculate, the kitchen provided all we needed for preparing our meals. And the views of Lake Superior were spectacular. With the bedroom window open a bit and the sound of the waves I slept like a baby. We enjoyed the multilevel decks, especially the one that reached out over the water. Such a good space for reading and restoring. Although we didn't fish - we purchased local ly caught fish at a fish market in Thunder Bay. We enjoyed some lovely hikes and sites in the area including Kakabeka Falls and Trail, the Fort Williams Historical Park, hiked parts of the James Duncan Nature Trail, and explored Prince Arthur Marina. The owner was very attentive to our communications. We have spent considerable time staying near Gran Marais on the U. S. side - my wish to go "further up" to avoid tourists and to experience a more wilderness feeling was abundantly fulfilled. Definitely a place to return to.

Beautiful, Clean, Private Cottage with Gorgeous View
We had a great week in this private, immaculately clean cottage. Cottage had everything we needed. Thick woods on both sides of the property screen you from other cabins/houses. We enjoyed the hiking trails nearby, but mostly we can't say enough about the beautiful view of the lake. Lots of birds and wildlife - a cormorant came and perched on the dock one morning, and we saw baby merganzers, bald eagles, loons, and more. We ventured into the Thunder Bay area, about a 40 minute drive to Fort William, Kakabeka Falls, and grocery stores. Bakery on Boundary is a must-visit. Thanks for a relaxing week!

Just as stated
Everything was as described in the listing. We were given great directions to find it. Absolutely lovely place, quiet area with near by trails. Only suggestion would be to put out pamphlets and information on area attractions in the main area somewhere. They were tucked away in the laundry area which we didn't open right away.

Spa-like scenic escape
The cottage and property are extremely well maintained and beautifully appointed with designer touches. The plush bathrobes / towels, lighting and other fixtures all combine to give the cottage a spa like vibe. We really appreciated all the spices (even olive oil) and kitchen equipment as we made all our meals. Water pressure and hot water are abundant. I suspect wifi speed might be problematic for distance workers with online meetings, but it was fine for our needs. This is not a place for swimming due to the rocks but a fantastic spot for gazing out over Lake Superior and relaxing on one of the many deck levels, in the hot-tub, or through the picture windows in the cottage. A lovely spot that we hope to visit repeatedly.

Perfection!
This was our honeymoon. We are very outdoorsy. This was a perfect place for a homebase to come back to you every day as we ventured out hiking and paddle boarding the last day we enjoyed staying at the cottage in the hot tub and walking down by the lake and just relaxing bed was insanely comfortable. Every single thing you think you need will be there except the food and drinks. I actually teared up knowing I had to leave. Thank you Carolyn sharing this property for the public to experience. Every day the views were top notch. There was a fox that came up to us on the deck while we are in the hot tub every morning loons would be feeding in the water. Highly highly highly recommend this property.

The cottage is the perfect getaway spot. It has a beautiful view of lake superior with an amazing hiking trail access point just down the road. This property is absolutely exceptional. Nature does it’s part with beautiful views of the bay and fun hiking close by. The home is spotless and charming in every way. We were lucky enough to get snowed in while we were there! Snow removal was prompt (as soon as travel was safe!) Winds were high during our visit keeping us out of the hot tub but next time for sure! We would love to visit again and spend more time.

Valentine's Weekend Getaway
Beautiful cottage right on the lake shore. My wife and I came here for an early Valentine's Day getaway to the north side of Lake Superior and loved every moment. The cottage is nicely located a decent distance outside Thunder Bay, but still lies close enough for easy access to the city. This place was a serene paradise for outdoorsy people like us, and few things could be better than sitting in the deck-side hot tub and looking out at Mink Island across the bay or stargazing during the clear night. Even though we visited in the winter, with snow covering most of the property, we still had an excellent time. Amenities were precisely as described, and the owner Carolyn was always friendly and quick to respond to any inquiries. Her instructions for accessing and maintaining the cottage were very clear and easy-to-follow. She was also quite helpful in providing recommendations for food and activities to first-time visitors to Thunder Bay like myself. All in all, Carolyn made the rental process extremely accommodating. In short, fantastic visit. Highly recommend for winter visits, but am very interested in returning for a summer stay as well.
