“Nice to return to an interesting hotel in a lovely spot. Condition of property mixed, maybe deteriorated since we last visited. But so have other aspects. Restaurant disappointing; unnecessarily complex menu, over ambitious & over priced but food disappointing/mediocre. Staff friendly but gave impression of constant sell of add-ons. Breakfast the worst Iv had in 30+ hotels over the last 18 months. Dreary, uninteresting unappetising food with extra charge item available also not an inspiring……

“Unfortunately another disappointing night at the Inn. Went for a meal, again staffing issues with chefs resulting in quite a few things not being available. I thought there was a wedding function going on as every now and then loud music would blast through the restaurant area but it was just the music coming from the kitchen area as the doors swung open and closed. Sadly in need of a makeover.”

“The only positive from our stay, if it didn’t Happen, would have actually been a blessing . The front desk agreed to help us check in later than possible by leaving key in lockbox. Unfortunately, same desk clerk told us hotel was in Dumfries which has a road with a similar which led u s to council housing at midnight. Once we discovered the error we have another 1 hour 15 minute ride to “hotel”. Upon arriving, key was in lockbox, room was large but beds were from the 19th century, incredibly……

“This is a cracking flat within a short walk of Dumfries town centre. From the outside, the flats don’t look too inspiring, but it’s clearly been renovated recently and it’s been done really nicely. The two rooms are pretty much identical doubles, and the living room/kitchen is a good size. Nice views of the river from most rooms, and a lovely small balcony coming off the main living area. Would definitely come back if in the area.”
