Excellent hotel in lovely historical grounds amazing value (dinner included in price - 3 course meal). Food very good, bar nice. Parking on site. Just outside Dumfries town centre. A former hospital site, which is also a University campus - lovely grounds for a walk

Room was really spacious and the seat in the shower is ingenious although the shower had no shower gel, had to look for someone at breakfast as they were in the bar area other than that had a nice stay to do Crichton parkrun, nice breakfast afterwards

Always stay here when visiting Dumfries, the staff are amazing, always willing to please. Food is always good ,rooms are very clean and comfortable. Breakfast has everything you would want . Lovely lounge to sit when there is a group of you. I always meet family there for drinks and we sit through the back in the lounge. Grounds are gorgeous and have a couple of different cafes to eat at.

Lovely well kept grounds,comfortable beds,helpful staff and food decent enough. Nice walk into town centre. I would like a better light for nighttime reading and a bigger television(visual impairment) My 3rd time staying here while visiting the D and G hospital and I would happily stay here again.

We were married here 18 years ago… the place has not changed. It needs a lot of investment. The smell around the hotel was awful to the point we actually held our breath going into the foyer for the lift. It’s such a pity. The grounds are beautiful but it has not been maintained to a high standard. We truly we very disappointed and didn’t think it was worth the money. This is a 2* hotel at best. We had considered coming back for a family gathering in a couple of years to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. But…. No we won’t be asking anyone to stay here! Food at night was good. A lot of choice and all tasty. Well looked after by the staff…. Breakfast…. Poor!

This is a really lovely hotel for an even lovelier price ! The staff are very friendly, the rooms spacious and spotless and we had an excellent breakfast that kept us going all day. We would normally have stayed at the Premier Inn in Dumfries every time we come over from NI to visit family but will definitely be staying in the Holiday Inn in Dumfries from now on.
