Spotlessly clean, warm and a very comfortable bed. The area around the inn is quiet and there is plenty of parking. Communication from Michelle was great, giving easy instructions for check in. Room was warm, spacious, a good shower and even had a fridge! Excellent breakfast. Sound insulation from adjacent rooms could have been better. We were advised less than an hour before arrival that the pub and restaurant would be closed that evening due to a family event, so we’d have to eat in Castle Douglas. No problem but the recommendations were all full - it would have been really nice if the Thistle Inn had offered to book a table for us.
