Set on the main street in the historic village of Rancon, this house, formerly a shop, is a typical French village house, with lots of character and also a number of quirks. It could best be described as 'shabby chic'. On the plus side is the very central location, with easy parking at the nearby Mairie (3 minutes walk) . Amenities in the village include le Georges (bar and bistro), Roncomagus (Epicerie Bio), Depot de Pain (Bread shop), Hairdresser, Art Gallery, and historic fortified church. The picturesque River Gartempe is less than 5 minutes walk away. There are pleasant country walks in several directions.
On the minus side the property is located right on the street. It is therefore not suitable for children or pets. There is very little traffic in the evenings and at night, but at certain times during the day there can be bursts of traffic, including heavy trucks. The traffic calming in this village is not the most effective.
