El Palacio Rosa: The Resort. 6BR Beachfront & Pool
Resort Takeover is the entire El Palacio Rosa property on Carib Bight, on the quiet east end of Roatán. Both homes, 6 bedrooms, 4 baths, 5,400 square feet, sleeps 18, with no other overnight house guests.
This listing combines the Pink Palace — the four-bedroom, two-level main home with the top-floor primary suite and the best sunset view on the property — with the Bay Suite, the two-bedroom walkout apartment below it. Two separate entrances, three full kitchens, four full baths, private balconies on both levels of the main house. Air conditioning in the bedrooms, fiber WiFi, smart TVs, free parking for the group.
Booking it this way means the property stops being shared. The infinity pool over the bay, the dock, the sandy beach, the kayaks and paddleboards and the skiff belong to one group for the length of the stay. Groups that take it are usually two or three families travelling together, a dive club, a family reunion or a mission team — eighteen beds, one table at dinner, and nobody negotiating over the pool.
The skiff runs the protected inshore passage east through the mangroves toward Jonesville and Oak Ridge after a short orientation, with a contribution for gas and no open-water crossing on the route. Off the dock: three reefs and the Roly Poly, a WWII naval cargo ship grounded here in 1945 and shallow enough to snorkel. Mangrove tunnels pirates used 400 years ago are a short paddle away.
La Rosa, the dockside restaurant and bar at El Palacio Rosa, is on the property. For a group of this size, arranging meals in advance — private breakfasts, group dinners, full meal plans — is the single most useful thing to set up before arrival. La Rosa Dive & Fish is the property’s own dive shop, for guests only: tanks, lockers, rinse, showers, air fills for a small fee, and deep sea fishing charters. PADI certification for the group can be arranged through local instructors. Over 30 dive sites within 15 minutes of the dock. Island tours pick up at the property. Restaurant, dive, fishing and tour services are priced separately. Laundry is $4 a load.
Carib Bight is about 30 minutes from Roatán International (RTB). The highway down the east side of the island was a wreck for years and is now paved all the way to Carib, with Blue Lagoon Road paved to within about twenty yards of the house. It used to mean a 4x4 and a beating for your suspension, which kept a lot of people on the west end. It is an easy drive now in whatever you rent. Away from the cruise terminals and the West Bay strip.
Checkout is simple. Put your trash in the bin, leave the dishes in the sink, and go. Leave whatever food you have in the fridge — it goes to Jorge and his family, not the trash. We handle the rest, laundry included. No stripping beds, no checklist.
Please note: no other overnight house guests means exactly that. La Rosa remains open to the public during a full takeover — it is a working restaurant, not a feature that switches off — so expect other diners at the dock, background music most evenings and a live band or DJ a couple of times a month. Two dock slips are also rented, so a visiting boat crew may share the pool and kayaks. Nobody else sleeps in the houses. There are stairs on the property, with steep ramps at a few points; with a group this size, message before booking if anyone has mobility needs. Resident dogs live on the property as part of our H.A.S. (Honduran Alarm System), which is why guest pets can’t be accommodated. Jorge, our on-site manager since 1998, is available 8am–5pm Monday through Saturday and around the clock for emergencies.
