"We loved the Ecolodge de Simal. It's really off the beaten track (quite literally so), but once you get there, the location is wonderful: right on the water. We were there for three nights. "This was a rustic lodge on an island off the coast from Missirah. Despite challenges finding the boat launch and getting the pirogue to take us to the lodge, we had a good stay. The hostess, Kiki, was warm and inviting. "We have a late arrival (3 AM). Check in process was efficient. The room was clean, the shower may require an upgrade, but a seaside view… priceless. Food was excellent and abundant with variety every night. The Senegalese night Buffett was delicious and the entertainment with local music, drums and dance was fabulous. We left behind a traveling board game (our fault) only to be handed back to us at check out. Massage was relaxing and well done. The prices on the store are same or better than at the local market outside the resort. The beach is spotless clean and resort staff is there all the time providing security and service. If you are curious about Senegal and want a small resort feel…. This is the resort for you! "
