“Friendly staff ”

“Staff was great. Room very clean and well kept. We found this gem this trip. Stayed at various places in winter park and this was the least expensive and presently supporting for the accommodations. Highly recommended.”

“What stood out was the historic charm and the very friendly and accommodating service. It was a wonderful stay in the mountains. The breakfast burritos in the morning were great as well my boyfriend loved them. ”

We had some difficulty finding the place after dark -- it's an historic property and so doesn't have prominent signage or lighting capable of advertising itself. “As adult ski bums, we tried out 4 Winter Park inns under $200/night in this season. Viking Lodge is our favorite and the least expensive. It is an old lodge and exactly what they advertise: a very basic room with private bath and a refrigerator. If you can enjoy an old fashioned ski lodge, this is a perfect place. (If you need glamour and upscale, this is not your place.) The room was very comfortable with lots of extra pillows. There is no breakfast (same as 2 of the other lodges we stayed……
