Moose Crossing Cabin...Private, Not Isolated

Come for a lovely, quiet vacation in the beautiful NC Smokey mountains. A beautiful cabin awaits you. Relaxation at its' best! Read on!

Looking for all the amenities and beauty of a mountain cabin without having to drive on dirt roads and be isolated? Moose Crossing Cabin is the place for you! Just minutes from quiet, quaint 'downtown' Andrews, this cabin is beautifully decorated for your comfort and privacy. Situated on a quiet, residential street high above the town, the cabin's front porch view is of the gorgeous northern mountains across the valley. Side porch overlooks a garden area with flowers (seasonally!) and bird feeders. Covered porches with rocking chairs, dining table & arm chairs for your comfort no matter the weather. A 10' X 18' open deck is on the back of the cabin with charcoal grill, chaise lounge, table, umbrella and four chairs, two faux wicker arm chairs. Cabin backs up to Leatherwood mountain, a beautifully forested and undeveloped area.

Ideally suited for two persons, bedroom features queen bed, firm mattress and 'faux' featherbed for the ultimate night's sleep. Room darkening drapes and wooden blinds. Robes provided for your comfort. Window A/C, ceiling paddle fan. Additional entrance door from side porch. All linens provided. You will find your bed made with ironed luxurious sheets! If needed, the LR sofa is loveseat-size sofa bed. A twin size fold-out bed with mattress and featherbed is also available. Cabin is small and designed with two person occupancy in mind.

Kitchen is small, located within the living room but fully equipped with everything you could possibly want. Upon arrival you will find your refrigerator stocked with breakfast items! Coffee, tea, hot chocolate mix, creamer, sugar, sweeteners, orange juice, milk, cereals, fresh fruit, jelly, English muffins, fresh eggs, waffles, pancakes, pure maple syrup, pre-cooked bacon, sausage, butter and spreads! Arrive ready to relax without worrying about grocery shopping for the morning! Definitely not your ordinary rental cabin!

Living room features cathedral ceiling, ceiling paddle fan/light, window A/C, French doors looking out onto your front porch and the mountains across the valley. Curtains swing away from the doors for a mountain view from inside. A very comfortable sofa and a Lane rocker-recliner. 32' flat screen TV located on the fireplace mantle. Free secure wireless internet access! You won't find that amenity in another local rental! All necessary items for fireplace are provided; dry wood, starters, kindling, matches, etc. Please see website for more photos and information!

Your hostess resides in the small home located in front and to the side of Moose Crossing Cabin. Cabin has private driveway. I assure you your privacy! However, I am available should a guest have a question, concern or want additional information regarding local sights. Some renters feel more secure knowing someone is available nearby should an emergency or unusual event occur. I am CPR certified and have over 40 years experience in the medical field.

This little gem of a cabin never disappoints!
This is our second time staying at Moose Crossing and it’s so fantastic we have already rebooked for Fall 2025. It is such a quaint little cabin stocked with anything you might need for a nice relaxing stay. Our dogs loved the big porch with gates to roam and sit to enjoy the beautiful view. We enjoyed exploring all the little mountain towns before coming back and cooking meals in the well stocked kitchen. I love that Pat stocks the refrigerator with breakfast and snack foods. She goes above and beyond making sure your stay is enjoyable. We hope to come back every year!!

Big things come in small packages. Miss Pat really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The place was clean and well organized. The bedroom is quite sizeable, with a queen sized bed. Miss Pat even had a twin size cot set up for our son, and we still had plenty of space. She had lots of breakfast items there for us. The wrap around porch is beautiful. I enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels, as well as looking at the mountains. We would certainly stay with her again. (My son is already asking to go back. Lol)

Lovely long weekend
We came to Andrews for the marriage conference at Snowbird Outfitters. Great location, convenient to the main campus. The cabin was very cozy and we really felt at home. The fridge and kitchen were well stocked with breakfast supplies. The bathroom had extra toiletries if you forgot anything. The hosts are very detailed oriented and thought of everything a guest may need. It felt like we were visiting family, very welcoming. We hope to return in the future and will recommend to others. Thank you!

Quaint, Quiet Retreat
The host was so sweet. From the personal greeting at the door to the stocked fridge, she made sure we felt right at home. The 2 stray cats in the property greeted us as we walked in and Georgie, the orange and white tabby, waited for us every time we left and entered. For a “stray” he was SO SWEET! Honestly, if we could have a cat, I would have loaded Georgie up to come back with us. The property was exactly as described. Seems it’s been a little while since the outside was power washed, which would go a long way to spiffing it up BUT that was not a big deal to us. There was 1 thing we absolutely did not expect during our stay: on our 2nd night, we laid down and the bed hit the ground - just fell completely apart 😬 We got it back together to get through the night and I immediately emailed the owner to let her know, as she had another guest coming in right after we left today. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the atmosphere of the house was perfect for us.

My daughter and I had a lovely holiday! We stayed in the cabin for five days and had everything we needed, Mrs. Pat is very kind and most definitely provides just about any household item you could need. She stocks the fridge with plenty of breakfast items, provided amenities for dogs and the supplies bathroom with toiletries. My daughter brought her dog (shepherd) and it was snug with the three of us. We spent most of our time hiking at Juney Whank Falls, Tellico Gap, Wayah Bald, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Jackrabbit Trail to name a few. Asheville and the Biltmore Estate are within a two hour drive and lots more to do! We had a great time and highly recommend staying at the Moose Crossing Cabin!

Great property/hosts
We absolutely loved this little place. After a very long day of traveling, we were exhausted and it was so nice to come into a place that everything we needed for breakfast the next morning. Our two little dogs loved it too! We slept in a very comfy bed. Unfortunately we received a phone call in the early morning of our first night and had to leave due to a family emergency. So my little planned get away was cut REAL short. Thank you so much Pat for your generosity and your sweet little cabin!

Moose Crossing - a delight as respite and base for exploring!
Moose Crossing is a perfect stay for a single or couple to explore Cherokee County and nearby Nantahala National Forest, Murphy and local TVA Dams. The Hosts have thought of all possible needs from supplies to conveniences. (Pat even thought of dog treats for my little fur baby). So nice to look out and see the mountains and take advantage of the friendly small town of Andrews. Highly recomend for sweet stay. (I enjoyed two weeks here!)
