Wonderful cozy UP stay, close to Pictured Rocks!
It was everything we’d hoped for. A rustic cabin, in the woods, close to pictured Rocks. We had such a wonderful stay! We are a family of 5 and brought my mother in law as well. The kids had a blast exploring outdoors. No other surrounding cabins were occupied so it was as quiet as we’d hoped. The house was a uper cozy with everything we needed. The house was stocked with anything you’d need to prepare food, even seasonings and condiments. Coffee supplied and having a percolator for our morning coffees was an absolute plus! All kitchen appliances are there. Dishwasher was a massive plus and having a washer and dryer helped this mom immensely! We tried to use the furnace but it’s really loud so we shut it off right away. But the oscillating heater was fabulous in the living area and also the fireplace up front. Kept the house super cozy the whole time. Beds are comfortable and we all slept great. We ate breakfast and dinner a couple times at the Bear Trap and it was delicious! Close and convenient. The general store was good too for basics. Ariana was a great host and answered so quickly when I had a question. Appreciate everything and we can’t wait to stay here again!

One of the nicest cabins and cleanest I have ever stayed at 10/10
This place was absolutely amazing! There was plenty of parking for our trucks and trailers, not to mention the fact you can walk out get on your sled and hit the trail heads right from there. The inside of the cabin was clean and well kept, we were very impressed and the communication with the host Ariana when we booked the property was top notch. We really couldn't have asked for a better host or better stay and experience. I would highly recommend anyone to give Ariana and North Shore Cabin Keepers a call if your looking for place to stay in the winter or the summer. We are already making plans for the next trip back yet this year please keep your fingers crossed for the snow to stay around. Thank you very much North Shore cabin Keepers and Staff!!

An Excellent Experience!
My wife and I and our kids stayed here for about a week and it was fantastic. The location is great if you're doing any hikes/sightseeing around Pictured Rocks and the host was absolutely fantastic. They were always incredibly quick to get back to me and were very accommodating. The house was kid friendly and it had everything there that we needed. I am very thankful that we got to stay here and would highly recommend this spot for anyone else looking to enjoy themselves around the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore!

Remote and cozy
Loved the wood tones, spacious enough for all that we needed. Much was already stocked/provided in the house. Only real concern is the flooring near the toilet

Check the carbon monoxide detector
It was an awesome stay. The Pictured Rock is my favorite destination and this property is located at the perfect spot. Even though there seems like a serious structural damage to the house, still the house served my family just right. But there's one thing I should mention. One night, the heater kicked in and it was loud. It was louder than my alarm. Also, it smelled toxic. I mean toxic. I suspected serious mechanical issue. Possibly related to the structural damage of the house? There was a carbon monoxide detector but I found out that it was disabled. Check the CO detector or bring your own.

Place is a dump!
The worst place we’ve ever stayed! Holes in the floor in front of toilet, kitchen floor was coming apart, side door had a 1/2” gap at the bottom for mice and cold air. The floor in the cabin is so slanted, the house could be on mystery hill! The furnace was so loud, and kicked on every 10 min, it was impossible to sleep. The place had more mouse traps than coffee cups. Driveway was not plowed, nobody shoveled entrance. No outside lights. A waste of money! Definitely will never stay here again. Zero stars!

Wow, be aware of what you are renting.
The good: The property is in quiet location for great access to PRNL, there is a nice neighbor across the street, the shower is good with lots of hot water, there is a large comfy recliner in the living room to get lost in, the fridge is great, and the master bed is pretty comfy. The wifi was decent, I could make calls on the front porch. The not so good: The place is pretty old with some probable structural issues, the kitchen floor slopes (so do the countertops) quite significantly to one side - this caused my 75 yr old mom to almost take a fall during the night on her way to the bathroom. There were two pieces of laminate flooring that were sticking up in the kitchen area that caught toes and were trip hazards. The furnace is LOUD. This needs to be repeated - it is very LOUD! It clunks and clanks - we named it 'the creature'. To get sleep, we had to turn it off and use the portable electric fireplace to heat the living area. The filter in the grate was pretty gross and in need of replacing (lol, so was the furnace). There is a large hole in the wall behind the sliding door to the bathroom (which didn't provide a lot of sound privacy). The washer was great to have but didn't have any knobs to adjust temps/load size (a multi-tool came in handy). A towel was wrapped around the back of the toilet, and the walls were warped. Dirty pans. Lots of trim missing. One rooms 'wall' is a very poorly hanging folding closet door. The BAD: When we entered the house, plug-in air fresheners were overpowering and when we removed them, we smelled propane. There ended up being a leak in the stove fitting, however at our first report, the owner claimed there was no leak because the stove/furnace worked. This was simply not true as the property manager found out the next morning (they were 2 hours away). We had no where else we could go, it was late, so we opened the windows (which made the loud furnace kick on even more), shut the bedroom doors, and tried to sleep. The property manager came and (mostly) fixed the leak, we could still smell a tiny bit when coming back to the house after a day but it was manageable. Communication with the property manager was good and she did the best she could with the leak. I do think a professional needed to be called in. I wasn't expecting a martha stewart home, but with updates, this place could be so much better. Not sure about the structural issues though! Owner didn't care. Would NOT stay again.

Perfect location - maintenance needed
Booking and communication with the property was great before our stay. Cell phones/email are spotty up there so it was challenging after we arrived. The property manager also works at the local general store so I talked to her in person but that wasn't very productive. Exterior: Front screen door ripped off. Unsecured cellar. Container of Round Up by side door. Second outbuilding not secured and had empty beer cans strewn about. Random garden hose running from the crawlspace to the back of the property. Small grill that that was in rough shape. Cooked one meal on it before the propane ran out. Fire pit in the backyard but no chairs or outdoor furniture. Dining room: Electric fireplace that is not shown in pictures that works great. Only three dining chairs at the table. Bedrooms: No ceiling fans Beds, pillows and bedding were sufficiently comfortable. Front bedroom that has two beds appears to have a closet blocked by one of the beds but that is actually a room divider of sorts. Two separate accordion style doors pieced together. Worked fine but it is inconvenient to have kids sleeping on one side and parents trying to work or watch tv on the other side. Kitchen: Appliances appear brand new and work perfectly. Supply of pots/pans/utensils is very limited. The coffee pot does not have a timer. Structural: The center of the house seems to be sinking. New flooring in the common areas but it is not installed well in the kitchen. Section in front of the side door that is subfloor covered with a scrunched up bath towel. Side door catches on the flooring that is there unless you hold it down with your foot before you open it. Section in front of the dishwasher that sticks up and caught our toes a few times. The listing picture shows a crack in the wall beside the barn door but that is a full fledged hole when the door is shut. Bathroom: No privacy with barn door that gaps on the sides and has no lock. Brand new nice vanity but the right side drawers won't open because the door trim is in the way. Shower was dirty. I told the manager, blamed a new cleaning girl, never came to clean it. Air freshener and disinfecting wipes containers were empty. Walls and floors near toilet unbelievably warped from water damage. Every time toilet is flushed, water seeps out around the base. No check-out procedures given, did what we have in past rentals. Great location for hiking Pictured Rocks but wouldn't stay again.

Great little cabin near Pictured Rocks
We had a great stay at this cabin, small enough for 2, but big enough for a small group 4-5. Very close to the Pictured Rocks trails. It was very comfy and had everything we needed. In the pictures it looks like it’s located far away into the woods but it’s close to a main road and within other cabins/properties. Overall a very good option.
