"Some things weren’t super clean, like a spray of something on the outside of the bathroom door and a beverage ring on the arm of the sofa. The bathroom sink didn’t drain properly. Our key cards wouldn’t always work. We were fine, comfortable, and it’s a nice place to stay in Faribault, as there are few great choices. This is by far the best. I’d make a better breakfast if I worked there. Real eggs, thick bacon, biscuits and gravy… all things that get other hotels great reviews. The bacon was overcooked and too thin. Eggs from a carton. American fries and French Toast sticks. Too many carbs. More fruit too. I’m truly not saying this to be mean. I just want to help out. I heard several folks mention the same things. Also, the kitchen took the entire bread offerings of Danish, muffins, bagels, out to refill. The refill should have happened in the back… refill a separate tray, then bring it to the breakfast area. People were wondering where it went. They wanted their bagels or muffins. But they weren’t seeing them. PB was old. Couldn’t peel it out of the container. Check dates. I’m truly"

"This is a great family vacation destination! We were looking forward to kayaking. I expected only two kayaks. What a surprise to find six kayaks available for our use! We spent many hours kayaking, not to mention spending time in this beautiful house. I highly recommend this property. "

- We checked in late (10pm) due to traffic. Staff were quick and helpful, if difficult to understand.
- Room was very cute, cozy, and clean.
- Bathroom was fun! Nicely decorated, great shower, good water pressure and temperature. The faucet lit up blue if cold, green if warm, and red if hot.
- Would recommend this spot to anyone travelling through. No real amenities on the property, such as pool or even a decent-sized room for breakfast, but if you just want a clean, cozy spot for a night or two, go for it. "

"My two young sons and I had a very nice visit to The Boathouse. The lake is well used but not busy and the water is calm. We spent our time on the kayaks, fishing from the dock, and on land with a fire to warm up the cool summer evenings. The Boathouse is well-kept, comfortable, and charming and the hosts are delightful and generous. The drive into the twin cities is very easy. I would definitely recommend. "

"We have stayed at this lovely home multiple times over the course of our child’s time at Carleton College. It’s become for us, our home away from home, a place where our shoulders go down the moment we arrive. The owners are incredibly kind and thoughtful in how they prepare for and communicate with guests. It’s always clean and furnished in a way that lends itself to good sleep and relaxation. It’s also conveniently located, within a few blocks of campus, the Weitz Center, or downtown. Parking is ample with both a spot in the back and street side. We have celebrated a 21st birthday (Carleton student classy style), parent weekends, Father’s Day, and graduation here. We absolutely adore this home and will hold tight the many memories we’ve had as a family in it over four years! Many thanks to the owners for sharing it with us! "
