“This is the first I rented a basement apartment with the owners upstairs. The apartment was as presented in photos, I didn’t like hearing people walk around upstairs. But that’s me. The neighborhood was very nice, close to restaurants and any number of activities. The only thing missing was the “how to” book. Every question I had I had to contact the owners. A book would have answered most if not all the questions. ”

“Most of our stay was very nice. A few inconveniences: noisey occupant in apartment above (footsteps sounded through ceiling), cheep & thin toilet tissue, cleaning fee did not include emptying trash.”

“The check in process was easy. I chose this place bc it had off street parking (no additional cost). The interior was clean and tidy but still comfortable like a home, not sterile like some hotels can be. The neighborhood was also so cute, it reminded me of a movie or something. 2 bedrooms, 3 beds total and the couch. Used the TV; Max and Netflix were available. Really enjoyed my stay, I’d stay here again.”

“Overall a very good property. Clean, neat, well provisioned. One caution: front door of apartment does not have a fixed lock. This unit is on the 2nd floor with a unit below. The front door of the apartment only has a safety chain. When you leave the apartment, and any valuables you don’t wish to carry with you, you can only ‘lock’ the front door with the chain and exit through back open porch steps. (This may be difficult with small children or elders in bad weather.) Otherwise the apartment……

“I was in Richmond to visit with family and stayed at '2A Gem'. Location was perfect, kitchen is well stocked (maybe could use a bit more silverware?) furniture was comfortable. I enjoyed the upper floor outside deck. Neighborhood is incredibly quiet and felt very safe. Plenty of parking. Could use some very minor extra cleaning in corners as well as finishing the cleaning of the recently painted door window trim (glass was still painted) Wish I would've had time to use the outside fire pit!”
