![The former Cistercian Kloster Ebrach, built in Gothic style, was founded in 1127. In 1200, Abbot Hermann I set to work on building the church, which was finished in 1280. More than 50 windows, 26 altars and, above the portal, a rose window adorn the building. The abbey was dissolved in 1803 in the course of Secularization. Since 1851, the abbey buildings served as a prison, nowadays known as Justizvollzugsanstalt Ebrach.

Man muss einen Online check in machen, bei dem man wieder bezahlen soll, obwohl alles schon vorab bezahlt war, darum ewige hin- und herschreiberei mit dem Hotel. "Innen ist das Haus sehr modern und sauber. Wir haben uns herzlich willkommen gefühlt. Auch an die Vierbeiner wird liebevoll gedacht. Der Garten war lückenlos umzäunt, nur das Zugangstürchen müsste überholt werden. Stellt aber keine Gefahr für Kinder oder Hunde dar. Die Treppe, die in das Obergeschoss führt ist sehr steil. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es im Nachbarort.Für ein verlängertes Wochenende mit der Familie war es wunderbar. "

"Like the other Welcome Hotel in Bamberg the buffet breakfast is understanding with a great range of German breads and rolls. cheese, cold meats, hot bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs, cereals including Birckenmüsli etc etc. The breakfast room faces directly onto the river Regnitz which is very picturesque. The staff are really friendly and helpful both with me and my teen children! It’s only a short walk to the centre of town, or along the river to the Old Town and Cathedral. The rooms were comfy and amazing value \*\*\*\*\*"
