"We just needed a place to stay for a couple of nights while we enjoyed friends at the lake. The house was great. I’d suggest anyone stay here."

"Harker House was small but clean and comfortable. The pros are the updated large bathroom, comfortable beds, heat and AC. The kitchen was okay for us because we ate out but the lack of stove and seating might be a problem for others. The location is on main in a small town so there is a busy restaurant across the street (very good mexican food) and a bar two doors down. But it is also within walking distance to the Fort Harker Museum which my husband enjoyed. The host was very responsive to our questions. We recommend the Harker House and will stay there again if we are back that way."

"There is no wifi or cell service at this place. We felt unsafe because the door could have easily been broken into. The museum across the street is very strange and unsettling. All 5 of my family members felt discernment not to stay the night. I contacted the host about it and she didn't get back to me for over 14 hours. There is only one place to eat in town and it was OK. This home and the weird museum are over 15 miles out of the way and very isolated. The beds looked fine but there is also no living space for 5 people to comfortably hang out together. If we had service or wifi or a secure door we may have stayed. The combination of feeling unsafe and the unsettling statues across the street were enough for us to move along. "
