“We stayed with a friend and her 4 year old - the folks running the farm were super friendly, and the 4 yo is still talking about how she misses Ben & Bob (the farm Collies). The cottage is on a working farm, and has been nicely restored, though it's clearly an old building, and I must have banged my head *every* time I went to load the fire in the kitchen! It's a place with real character - the farm has cows, goats, chickens, and fish, and would be great for anyone with kids. The wifi was……

“The Cottage was ideally located for lots of adventures and had a very homely feel. The Cottage has the benefit of off road parking and because there are really good amenities in Braithwaite together with the fabulous walks from the door ranging from a Wainwright to a gentle stroll around the village we didn't use the car. We particularly enjoyed the walk up Barrow and Outerside with our dog Toby. I'm sure we will be staying again.”

“We had a lovely stay in this house. I'd read reviews that criticised the cleanliness of it, and I wonder why some people like to moan. (To get good cleaners in the Lake District is not the easiest thing.) We liked the house and garden. It was good that the owner had left everything we might need, washing up liquid, paper towels, numerous toilet rolls (of good quality), as well as cooking equipment etc. My son and I had fun lighting the log burner stove with the wood provided.
