Good option as home base for day trip to Húsavík just an hour away. Was spacious and had everything we needed. Also close to delicious Brynja ice cream shop!"

"Room and bathroom good but fighting seagulls at 2 am in the back alley was very unpleasant.
Also no kitchen facilities - essential if you call yourself a hostel and showers in the basement through the pub no great situation.

"The cabin is absolutely beautiful two bedrooms downstairs one bedroom upstairs loft type beautiful kitchen. Everything you need to cook a meal great living room, beautiful deck. "After a long, exhausting drive from the East, my family & I arrived in Akureyri around 1:00 am. We were completely exhausted after driving from the South & just ready to get some rest. However, our check-in hit a small bump -- we were given the wrong code to our apartment & couldn’t get in. Thankfully, when I called the staff, he responded quickly & provided a new code. He was incredibly helpful & made the process smooth despite the late hour. The apartment itself was clean, cozy, & very comfortable -- too bad we only had one night to enjoy it! After settling in, my husband & I decided to head out for a quick drink. We found a nearby bar & enjoyed a refreshing local IPA beer. It was almost 3:00 am & we felt safe walking around the area. The locals were warm & welcoming, & it was the perfect way to unwind after such a long day."
