“Staff were brilliant
I have had breakfast before and fantastic plenty to eat
Bar. And outside area great lots of room
Sad to say it all needs updating up stairs.
All bathrooms need updating and decor and carpets need gone.
Definitely the WiFi needs sorting out so you can get on it when you are in your room
I wanted to chill out and watch Netflix but no internet
Apart from that always a lovely stay and they accept dogs which is fab”
“The Lairds House is a unique place to stay. It has an historic charm and well furnished hotel rooms. I also ate there and the meal was good, but did suffer from an upset stomach after. In the morning as a result I had a very simple breakfast, avocado on toast which was slightly below par.
My main concern was having booked through Expedia there was a dog fee which wasn’t clear of £15. Having been told I had settled up my bill the night before and tried to leave was made to feel as if I was trying……
“Room smelt of dogs, upon enquiring i was informed previous occupant had dog. External of property very run down and in need of refurbishment ie windows rotten, walls cracked, gutters blocked, in need of repaint etc.

“Fantastic staff. Room comfortable, just a little warm in this current weather. Excellent breakfast. Pool was petite but a good facility. Enjoyed our weekend stay here.”
“Staff very friendly. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked to your order, different fruits to choose from. Parking a bit awkward as it was on the street. Will go back again.”
“Dirty toilets, made us wait after check in time due to the room not being ready and once we went in the beds were not done properly! A fan was provided which didn’t even work and curtains and wall with marks.
Will not recommend it to anyone.”
“Located next to the Wheatsheaf inn which has an arrangement with hotel to provide meals for hotel guests, at least for Brekfast, which was also good.”
