No detail was overlooked in this Old North Durham neighborhood home restoration. Enjoy a pampered getaway with your family and friends!

The Space:
The 1897 Murray-Whitley house is a Durham landmark on Trinity Avenue; The impeccable multi-year renovation was completed in 2022. The interior of the home has hardwood floors, beadboard ceilings, custom and salvaged builtins and historic style molding throughout. The showpiece kitchen features 36" Viking gas range, pot filler, double ovens, dual sinks, dual dishwashers, wine fridge, pantry, bar, granite counters, custom mahogany island with luxurious Frontgate seating for 6 and bonus leather swivel reading chairs. The expansive home offers abundant gathering spaces, spacious & well-equipped rooms, tall ceilings, plush beds, wrap around front porch with rocking chairs, Jacuzzi in the private backyard, gas grill & comfortable outdoor furniture. The newly updated baths include a downstairs marbled master walk in shower with Jets, hall bath with restored tub and subway tile (perfect for the kids), upstairs master with walkin shower and spa stone flooring, and hall bath with new walk-in shower and rain showerhead. The bedrooms are well-furnished, elegant, comfortable and bright. The bathrooms all feature true ceramic and stone tiling, and high quality finishes. We use Free & Clear Unscented laundry detergent on bedding and towels so our guests with sensitivities to perfumed products can breath easy.

The Neighborhood:
From your steps, it is 1/2 mile (10 minute walk) to much of the best that Downtown Durham has to offer, including LouElla Wine Bar, Cocoa Cinnamon Coffee, Fullsteam Brewery, Motorco music venue and Bar. You'll travel along tree lined streets past historic homes on your way. It's an easy trip to the Saturday morning farmers market, Durham Art walks, the Carolina Theater, and many, many exceptional restaurants and unique bars. Upon Booking, we will share an expansive and comprehensive list of all of our Favorites!

Getting Around:
There are many bus lines that should take you very near our house; We're centrally located; by car, we're approximately 3 minutes from I-85 or NC-147, or an easy walk / Lyft / Uber ride downtown.

Other Things to Note:
We have a Smart TV with access to Netflix, your Amazon or Hulu account, and many other apps. We Cut the Cord on Cable, but offer YouTubeTV which functions similar to Cable and offers tons of Live or On Demand Options!

We want you to be able to settle into this home as if it was your own. We'll stay out of your way, but we're just a quick message away if you have questions about restaurants, events or the house, or if an unexpected issue arises.

Very Nice House
11 people & a baby. Very clean. Lots of space. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. Master w/bath on first floor & Master w/bath on the 2nd floor were very helpful. Two additional general full baths were great. Two sets of washer & dryer were put to use. Definitely would stay again if in the area.

As wonderful as the pictures
The house compared to the pictures did not disappoint. We enjoyed the gathering space in the kitchen and outside on the patio the most. There were a couple of communication glitches (some delays in pre-check in communication and we never got check out instructions) but nothing that takes away from the overall charm, location and thoughtfulness of supplies that existed in the home.

The bedrooms and beds were great, and the living areas extremely inviting and comfortable - including the porch chairs as well as the hot tub. NC Wedding Weekend
We had a long extended family weekend in Durham which we were visiting for a family wedding in nearby Cary, NC. My wife and I, our three grown children and their spouses and one grandchild took advantage of the opportunity for a family reunion. The house is a beautifully renovated historic house in old Durham accurately described in the VRBO listing. It suited our needs perfectly. The host or his designee were easy to communicate with and responsive.

Space for everyone!
This is an amazing home with lots of space for everyone! We spent a lot of time in the comfortable, well-equipped kitchen. We parked our cars for the weekend and walked everywhere - home is close to wonderful restaurants, wine bar and food market.

This was a very quaint yet vast home. So it has character but lost of room.
We enjoyed the property and even host a nice family event. The updated portion of the home:kitchen was a hit. The home had everything I could image, so it work very well to have a nice happy hour cocktail party for 12. Patios are very nice. My only suggestions are that they air out the homes before usage, get an exterminator and they keep the coffee maker we left there. Also renters should know that this is an older home and floors are uneven.

The reason I gave this a 5 star I was impressed with the management. I was super happy with how well tans quickly they responded to the issues we had. Here I’ll tell the story and my honest opinion. 1. The house was not cleaned properly when arriving - there were cleaning products around the house. The owner expressed that they cleaning crew did not know and did not show. I believe they did but did not do a stand up job. The reason I believe this, when the company showed up to clean the house. I removed the majority of stuff out of the fridge. Opened half eaten food. There was a lime that I wanted to keep. When they came back after I expressed my concerns they threw the lime away however kept all the other food. Lol. 2. The hot tub was nasty - luckily they leave cleaning products by the tub - we cleaned the tub however, it never got hot :( 3. The listing had 7 rooms and even a break down of where room. However when I asked them about this, they said it could have been the air mattress. Either way - was not what we expected. 4. I brought this up to management with a few other things. They immediately responded, worked with us and fixed all the issues. So at the end of the day, I’m happy with the stay and how management took care of the concerns. The rest is small stuff at the end of the day. The location is great super close to downtown. Cool bars and the house is accommodating. They did a great job with the remodel and the beds and pillows are fantastic. Overalll happy with the stay.

Nice place to have lots of family to stay together
Beds are wonderful, which is a big plus. Be careful of wooden stairs as lighting creates shadows and they are slick. Several falls. Kitchen has all the amenities to cook. You might want paper plates as dishwasher does not open all the way, so hard to load. If going in the winter time be prepared for a cold house. It takes a couple hours to warm up and there are two thermostats up and down to set . We did not realize that. Once warm the house is cozy and comfortable. My family would stay again.

Great house for a family get together!
We spent the Thanksgiving holiday with our family in this historic 6 bedroom home. There were 7 adults and 2 children (13 & 10) and the house had ample room for all of us to be comfortable. Our son, his wife and their 15 month old live 2 blocks away, so the location was great to go back and forth to their home and to also access great restaurants. The owners left a bottle of wine to greet us and everyone was excited about the beautiful bar area. The house has lovely porches and a great back yard that we used for grilling. We had a problem with the dishwasher and the owner was quick to respond and have it repaired. This is the perfect property for a large group to gather and enjoy good times together.

Lovely and Convenient Historic Home
We very much enjoyed our stay at this beautifully restored, clean, historic home in Durham. There was plenty of room for our family and it was located conveniently to many area attractions, though the cost of the convenience was street noise from passing cars. We loved the unique features of the home, the very comfortable beds, and spacious rooms, as well as the many amenities. Overall this is a wonderfully charming home!

We very much enjoyed this property. The house was great and the owners were extremely attentive. We had a concern about the AC on a hot August day and within an hour of my call a technician was there to address our needs and do what needed to be done. There was no hesitation.
