“What a great "stay" enough room for 2 people or 2 couples and our dogs. The back yard is fenced in. It is freshly remodeled. High ceilings with the most beautiful pine wood. A very modern up to date look. On a dead end road with a few older smaller homes and right next to the Trinidad University. Absolutely quiet area. Also, right next to I-25 and a few minutes from downtown shopping and eating. I loved the complementary doggy bowls under the kitchen island welcoming our pets.”

We sat on the deck and enjoyed the beautiful view and lovely weather. The beds were comfy and the house was very well maintained. We had plenty of towels and kitchen items. If you are traveling through Raton, you could not find a better place for your family!”

“We loved staying here and know we will come again. Just a few suggestions: the cooktop was really dirty! The bathroom rugs didn’t look too clean, could use more towels and washcloths, the bath mat in the tub didn’t look too sanitary, there was a carton of eggs in the refrigerator that held empty shells that looked pretty gross. We loved the swing on the front porch, so quiet and peaceful. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you.”

“The Second Story is a beautiful old home right on the main drag on the south end of Raton. Traffic was a little noisy at times but not much of a distraction. We had the entire second floor that has a sitting room with a great easterly view of the mountains and mesas that that made for wonderful sun and moon rises. Great little restaurants all over town, which you'll need because there is only a small refrigerator and coffee maker. We had a very nice stay and will be back at the Second Story...

“Booking and checking in was very easy. The area is absolutely stunning! From the great sand dunes to northern New Mexico all are close enough to explore. We came across all kinds of wildlife during our stay. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Wi-Fi is very good. It seems small from the photos but we never felt cramped. We would definitely stay here again.”

“So if you're looking for a ritzy upscale property that has all of the luxuries of a modern home this isnt your place. However if you want a place that feels like a home, has what you need to be comfortable, is clean and a nice quiet place to lay your head after a good day of skiing at Angel Fire (1.25 hours away) and at a good price then this place is well worth it. 7 people were with us and we were comfortable. Property manager was more than helpful and helped us with any needs. Will be back.”
