Quito Historic Center has plenty to keep you on the move, but don't limit yourself to just one place. Book a set of wheels and hit the road to explore the wider region. Here are a few ideas:

• You'll find Mall of the Andes and many other interesting attractions in Ambato. From Quito Historic Center, it's approximately 70 miles away.
• Roughly 110 miles away, Esmeraldas is also a favorite with travelers. Set aside time to get to Malecón Las Palmas while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love this city.
