Once you've ticked off the great sights in Miyakojima, there's more to discover in the surrounding region. Pick up the keys to a rental car, stow your bags in the trunk and hit the road. Here are some road trips you're sure to enjoy:

• Make your way to Nagoya for an excellent sightseeing adventure. Approximately 85 miles from Miyakojima, it has loads of amazing attractions such as Nagoya Castle.
