Once you've checked out all of the fabulous sights in Southeast Calgary, there's a lot more to explore in the region. Pick up the keys to a rental car, throw your luggage in the trunk and take to the open road. These are some road trips we think you'll enjoy:

• Red Deer is roughly 90 miles from Southeast Calgary. Popular tourist spots like Peavey Mart Centrium deserve to be high on your must-see list while you're in town.
• Your next stop? Consider Lethbridge, which is around 100 miles away. Enmax Centre is one local draw card you really shouldn't miss.
• Find your way to Athabasca Falls to reconnect with nature. Pack a picnic to enjoy or just relax and unwind. From Southeast Calgary, it's approximately 200 miles away.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Canada, then you may need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car. You should also be aware that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll need to show your driver's license from your home country your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card you used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some other things to note for international car rentals are:
