The room was cute and fun, the bed was fine enough. Since we just stayed for the night to sleep that was fine! The hallways were extremely dark which we did not find safe or enjoyable. We were glad to be right across from the elevator. The check in/check out situation was odd as it was also the bar. While that could be fun, we think they could have improved customer service so guests felt welcome and like they were given good attention. We came for our wedding night and were still dressed in our white dress and tux… didn’t even receive a congrats. They barely spoke. We were not impressed. Parking was confusing also. So many drunk people around due to the environment we just didn’t expect that either.

Stayed for 1 night. Only thing we didnt like was the public parking garage next door to hotel. Cost $20 day. Was difficult to get in because no one there and signage confusing. Eventually we got into garage and headed next door to the hotel lobby. We appreciated the front desk staff who clarified things, but that was a deal breaker for me.

The staff was nice and accommodating. The bed was comfortable. However, what I didn't like, the bed has weird big leather pillows instead of a headboard. The TV was all static and crackling. The big sliding barn door to the bathroom left little privacy. We also had the privilege of experiencing a fire drill at 2am. I've never left a hotel so tired in my life. I doubt I'll stay here again.

The staff was super nice. This made the stay very nice. Downtown Richmond has a lot of homeless people but none of them were bothersome. I’d stay here every time!

Cool place. First time I've stayed and I'll stay again. Short walk to a great music venue. Friendly, helpful staff. Awesome bar and comfortable spots to chill. Snacks!

My family and I had an excellent experience with stay at the Moxy Hotel. The staff was very professional and pleasant. The room was clean and neat. Really no complaints for the Moxy Hotel.

I would not stay her again. I reserved a room with a view. They put in a room without. The heater made a loud noise when I turned it up to 68 so I had to keep it 66. The smoke alarm was right next to the bed on the wall and blinked over the bed. No fridge in the room unless you ask them to bring you one. There were hairs in the shower. It's a bare boned place. The staff was super nice, but I was not pleased with my room and the hotel.

We were not a fan of this hotel. The staff gave us insufficient directions to the parking area. There were several items on the menu that were not available and when we ordered orange juice there was actually no orange juice - only cranberry juice and lemonade. The shower did not stay warm and made a mess in the bathroom and we had allergy issues in the room. The room itself was nice though.

The hotel is fun and colorful. They cut some of the little things (like toiletries in every room) and it would appear that they pass some of those savings on to the customer. You can still get them if you need them in the stash lockers on every floor! They even had shaving cream/razor kits. The rooms are clean and the layouts are cool. My sister and I slept in toe to toe queen size beds. Will definitely stay again at a Moxy.

Good if you're about the night life
I chose the Moxy for it's location, the room was clean and classy but small (cheapest one they have). The heat worked but had to turn off to cool down and the person for breakfast wasn't there at 7:30 so I only got coffee.

Everything was great! They did seem to be a little understaffed which delayed our checkin by about 20 minutes. Every other aspect of my stay was prime time. Would stay again.

Hotel was perfect. I love the room. Everything was nice sink was clogged and didn’t drain and the toilet got stopped up and wouldn’t flush almost overflowed. Other than that we loved it.

The place a cute but not functional. Entry keys to rooms don’t work. There was no hot water in the shower. Felt like a ghost town which is odd for a Saturday night.

I visit Richmond frequently and stay here every time. Good public space to work or have a drink, and confortable enough place to sleep.

There was one guy working the front desk/bar all weekend. Seemed as if he was very overwhelmed and pulled in a million different directions and as such was maybe not as friendly as he is capable of being. When we checked out and things were quieter I caught a glimpse of how nice he could be. The location of the hotel is great, close to so many things you can walk to. Parking is next door which was easy to get to but we parked once and didn't have to use our car the rest of our visit. The Moxy is a fun trendy hotel which will appeal to many people under the age of 50.
