First of all, I want to say this cabin is nicely laid out for families and groups, nice open living area, beautiful porches with nice views, a fun rec room and they're dog friendly, all of which we liked and appreciated. Beyond that, we had a very difficult time communicating with the management company when the water wasn't heating up, the dishwasher smelled and wouldn't actually clean dishes, the kitchen faucet leaked down the back and along the countertops, and there were no drain plugs in any of the bathtubs (property listed as kid friendly....hard to bathe my 2 year old without either a drain plug or a detachable shower head). I messaged them via the Vrbo app and didn't get a response until 9 hours later that a message was sent to their Guest Relations team. Nearly 24 hours later, no response or a visit from a handyman. So I finally call their 800 number and am on hold for several minutes to talk to someone. This person locates my reservation and says he sees no notes about us needing any assistance (!!!!) and now that he's made a note of it it will take at least another 8 hours to merely get an ETA for someone to come fix these things.
Around the 2nd day of our 6 day stay we all start to notice a HORRIBLE sewage smell outside the front door. It was strongest outside, but we think it was coming from the ground level because then it was starting to emanate into the lower level of the house (where the majority of the bedrooms are). My kids complained about the smell when they had to sleep in the bunk room downstairs.
Kitchen wasn't stocked well (I know poor cookware is par for the course for a rental, but these pots and pans were in horrible condition....we tried to make a roast in the provided slow cooker (awesome!), but no matching lid to be found (argh!)). There were maybe 2 dozen various knives in the drawers, but NONE of them were sharp. My mother-in-law cut herself while trying to slice vegetables for dinner and the knife was so dull it slipped off the vegetable and into her finger.
Coming up on the first day of our stay, my booking through the Vrbo app was never updated with any check-in or Wifi info. Cabins for YOU pretty much neglect their customers if they book on Vrbo, so PLEASE be aware! It may be better on their direct website, but I wouldn't know, and I'm not interested in finding out on any future stays.
