“This is our second time staying here. It feels like a 5 star hotel. The details in the decor are unique and well designed. The bed and bedding is comfortable. I love the lobby, large and spacious with lots of seating options for gatherings small or large. Great restaurant, Proudfoot and Bird with a bar that has great happy hour from 2-6 daily. The happy hour has great food options, not so much for drinks on special. The HOBNob restaurant for breakfast is ok, but service there is slow. Will……

“We enjoyed the spacious room, the eclectic decorating and comfort of the lobby and the breakfast at the Hotel Des Lux. We stayed on a quiet holiday night so would be interested to observe the hotel on a night with greater occupancy. On Locust St the right curb lane offers signage for temporary check-in parking, but to me and my car and I felt exposed to regular traffic on Locust. Could the city of Des Moines construct a bump out to more isolate that curb lane? ”
