(1,002 reviews) The location was great. It was out of the hustle and bustle but still close enough to be a fairly short drive to main attractions of the island. The room was a little dated and showed a lot of wear. The bed was super comfortable but the roosters crowing 2 hours before daylight was off-putting. Also, the neighbors smoking pot outside our window and filling our room with smoke was a bit much. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. This road is legal and accessible with a normal vehicle, but it's a bit of a harrowing drive, so be very cautious and honk when coming around bends. Honolua Bay is a great place to snorkel, have a swim, or lay on the hot rocks. While here, be sure to visit the Coconut Caboose mobile truck, serving all-natural shaved ice made from frozen raw coconut water, hand-cracked by the owner and founder himself. They also serve delicious organic, vegan gelato all using coconut as the base instead of milk.
