Hot water took 5 mins to come through, cold tap broken, window wouldn't close, dodgy hacked together fittings, other people staying at the hotel shouting from 2-6am, fights, banging doors

Property was worse than expected for the price. Very noisy, ie the pipes/plumbing in the building. No bedside lamps. Fire alarm was not working, ie cover off and sitting in closet. Very small thin pillows. No extras in room. No bedside lamp. Staff were nice on check-in. Room was clean. More like a 2.5 star.

Basic but close to beach
After reading some pretty awful reviews, I was very concerned about staying at this hotel but I was very relieved that I did not experience anything but good service and cleanliness. Having said that, it is an older hotel with basic facilities and does need some TLC with being very dated and basic and has some maintenance issues but overall the bed was comfortable and clean as was the towels and nothing wrong with the shower & hot water supply. You get what you pay for and it was super close to the Novotel where we attended a wedding. People staying there paid more than 3 times the amount we did and yes they got a modern room but paid for it too. Convenient for parking on site and close to the beach. I would recommend for anyone wanting convenience and a place to sleep.

Well located, easy to find on a primary road into North Wollongong, but not noisy at all. Beach sounds a bonus.

Terrible experience, AC unserviceable, windows opened but there was no fly screens, windows couldn't be locked, the hotel was always open allowing anybody to walk in and out, holes in doors, photos have been staged to make a poor hotel look good.

Worst property I have stayed by booking through Expedia. The photo’s you displayed are unreal and it is not worth for that rate. Untidy filthybedroom with cockroaches. The bathroom shower is broken. The window screen is broken. I won’t pay $106 for this type of untidy property in Wollongong. Very disappointing Expedia

Property in good location but that’s all it has going for it. Very disappointed and couldn’t wait to leave. One pillow each, no working air conditioner , stained bed sheet and blood stains on one towel. Hot water takes forever to heat etc etc. Found left over ice block in fridge that had been frozen over. Limited parking. Felt like I was staying in a poor backpackers facility.

The bathroom was filthy, black hairs absolutely everywhere I had to ask staff if the room had even been cleaned. The room itself wasn’t overly clean, very old and run down building. Not what the pictures online look like. The location is handy being close to north gong beach and cafes. That’s about all it has going for it. I would not stay here again.

Well situated with good parking, near the beach, quiet at night. Dank smell, cracked paint corridors, permanently open reception door, terrible water pressure in shower. All needs a lick of paint!

The building is run down, everything is old and needs updating. We had no choice but to stay there as it was last minute, so we paid $195 for one night. There was chewing gum on the wall next to where I slept 😐

This whole property needs a complete renovation. The reception is a piece of plastic supported by chipboard. The rooms was clean and so was the bed. The room was old, paintwork was peeling, the bathroom requires a Reno. The shower was pathetic, no hot water and no soap to wash with. Would NOT recommend

Could do with some TLS, the biggest issue I had was NO internet!. Initially given the wrong password, when eventually I got connected (day 8, 2nd last day of stay) it was so slow I couldn't get to anything anyway!

Some broken stuffs unfixed in the room like aircon not working , lucky temp is cooler, broken shower handle, there was a dead cockroach on the carpet when we came in. Location is bery good, walking distance to the beach.

The second floor rooms were very disappointing, the bathrooms needed a thorough bleaching and refurbish. The open box of tissues on the bedside table was an interesting choice of decor.The ground floor rooms by contrast were quite pleasant, bathroom was clean, but the room lacked a bedside lamp.

This place is THE most horrendous accommodation I have seen in my life! Absolutely appalling. The building ought to be condemned. The moment you walk in the filthy foyer, a disgusting reek smacks you in the face. Windows havent been cleaned for many many years. In fact, nothing has been cleaned in many many years!!. The online photos are a lie, they are NOT of this hovel they call an hotel! It looks and stinks more of a drug squat than a hotel that has the audacity to even be open let alone charge accommodation prices and then refuses to refund when told I cant have my parents their late 80s stay there...mum with Alzheimer's and dad with a serious heart condition ( the sole reason for our visit was for tests at the Hospital). THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN! I asked to look at the room, I walked down a dirty hallway, walls hasn't been painted in at least 50years, looked like original carpet at least 60yrs old, the door opened into the foot of a grotty looking saggy old bed and the stink of the room was just vile. I didnt even go in. I'd seen and smelt enough. I asked for my money back and was told I cant het a refund because it was booked online, only 20mins prior (of that). I stormed out because I was too livid to argue with the poor sad looking kid at reception..it wasn't her fault.

Photos looked great, so I checked in with my son who hadn't been to a hotel before. Found: * Paint peeling off walls and furniture. * Door had a fist sized hole in it. * Bolts with caked paint sticking out from walls from the place's better days. * Document says reception "opens at 8am", elsewhere "opens at 8:30am". Both were wrong, opened after 9. * Got up for the promised continental breakfast "available in our restaurant" to be told "there isn't one". Restaurant, that is . WHAT THE ACTUAL. Ended up taking my kid to Maccas.

Room was tiny Powerpoint was hanging out of the wall The only other place to plug in the jug was at a powerpoint so low that the jug had to sit on the floor Paper cups - tacky!

Very run down, musty smelling property. Used soap was on the floor of bathroom near toilet and window, floor was a bit slippery, maybe due to the soap? Free wifi was part of the package but it didn’t work at all. There were no batteries in TV remote control, we went to reception and were told there were no batteries, so we purchased our own.
