Earth, Wind & Fire (EW&F) is an American R&B, soul, funk, disco, and pop band formed in Chicago in 1969 by drummer and visionary bandleader Maurice White. Fusing African rhythms, jazz sophistication, spiritual themes, and pop accessibility, the group created one of the most influential and joyful sounds in popular music history.

Their signature elements—Philip Bailey’s soaring falsetto, Verdine White’s funk‑driven bass lines, lush horn arrangements, and spiritually uplifting lyrics—set them apart from every other act of the era.

Earth, Wind & Fire has sold over 90 million records worldwide, won six Grammy Awards, and received numerous lifetime honors including induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Kennedy Center Honors, and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Following Maurice White’s passing in 2016, the band continues to tour under the leadership of founding bassist Verdine White, alongside longtime members Philip Bailey and Ralph Johnson, preserving the band’s legacy as a living, performing institution.

In 2026, Earth, Wind & Fire embarks on one of its largest modern tours, co‑headlining the Sing A Song All Night Long Tour with fellow legend Lionel Richie . The tour represents a celebration of two of the most enduring catalogs in soul and pop history and marks EW&F’s most expansive arena tour in years.
