Jedrzejczyk’s introduction to fighting was nothing more than a way to take up fitness. She discovered Muay Thai when she was 16, which soon led her to compete in large tournaments. As an amateur Muay Thai fighter, she has 6 IFMA world medals and 4 IFMA European championships. She has taken 5 world titles as a Muay Thai professional. Her MMA debut came in 2012, when she fought against Sylwia Juskiewicz. In the following year, Jedrzejczyk had already become the #7 flyweight fighter in the world. She signed with UFC a year later as a strawweight. One of J.J.’s notable fights was against undefeated strawweight fighter Claudia Gadelha. She won the fight via split decision, but the judge’s decision were met with controversy due to most of MMA media scoring in favor of Gadelha. After defeating Carla Esparza for the UFC Strawweight Championship in 2015, J.J. defended her title 5 consecutive times. She was bested by Rose Namajunas on her 6th fight, marking her first loss in her professional MMA career. As of the end of 2018, J.J. has returned to the flyweight division.
