Koe Wetzel was born Ropyr Madison Koe Wetzel on July 14, 1992 has become one of the most disruptive personalities in modern country‑adjacent music. Raised around live music—his mother was a touring country singer—Wetzel was performing onstage as a child and later played linebacker at Tarleton State University before abandoning football to pursue music full‑time. His rise did not follow the Nashville playbook. Instead, he built a cult‑like following through relentless touring across Texas college towns and bars, releasing early records independently under the banner Koe Wetzel & the Konvicts.
In 2026, Koe Wetzel is operating at the largest scale of his career with the launch of The Night Champion World Tour , his first fully global headline tour. The run begins in the spring with select festival and major‑event appearances across the United States before expanding internationally with a three‑date Australian leg in May, followed by multiple Canadian arena shows in July. The core North American segment of the tour stretches from midsummer into early fall, hitting large amphitheaters, arenas, and festival sites across nearly every major U.S. market aand major outdoor amphitheaters throughout the Midwest, South, and West Coast.
The 2026 tour also reflects Wetzel’s role as both a headliner and tastemaker within the modern country‑rock lane. Select dates feature high‑profile support acts such as Ole 60, Shane Smith & the Saints , Wyatt Flores and Corey Kent reinforcing his influence on the next generation of Texas‑ and indie‑leaning country artists.
