Home to some of America’s best cinema, sports, arts, and theater, Los Angeles isn’t called the Entertainment Capital of the World just for show. The City of Angels has been charming visitors for generations and offers up a terrific selection of attractions—from baseball and football games to theater tickets and some of the hottest performances in show business.
LA’s Hollywood history has given it some of the greatest venues and event spaces in the country, including the concert halls of the Los Angeles Music Center, the iconic Hollywood Bowl, and the TCL Chinese Theatre. The Pantages Theatre has brought Broadway shows like Wicked and The Lion King to audiences on the West Coast, while the Los Angeles Philharmonic delights audiences with performances both indoors and out. If you’re in the mood for comedy, clubs like The Comedy Store and Laugh Factory routinely feature names like Dane Cook, Joe Rogan, and Dave Chappelle.
Sports fans are treated to one of the widest varieties of teams in the country, playing in a collection of world-class arenas. The Staples Center is home to the local basketball teams—the Lakers and Clippers—as well as the Los Angeles Kings hockey team. It has also hosted concerts for artists like Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, and Taylor Swift. Just north of downtown, Dodger Stadium has hosted the storied Dodgers baseball team since 1962. You can head to Anaheim to see the MLB’s Angels or the NFL’s Rams take the field, or you can grab a ticket to cheer on the MLS’s Galaxy at StubHub Stadium. Never quite satisfied, the city is still attracting new talent, adding a new Major League Soccer expansion team with the Los Angeles Football Club in 2018.
The Los Angeles area’s wealth of arenas and event spaces have hosted some of the biggest performances in entertainment history. You can visit the Rose Bowl in Pasadena or see the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the home of the USC Trojans, which hosted the 1932 and 1984 Olympic Games and will hold the torch again in 2028. No matter what ticket option you choose, there are plenty of things to do and events to see in Los Angeles.
