As part of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), the Louisiana State University Tigers have a rich history of excellence in sports that have made them one of the top programs in the country. The Baton Rouge-based university has earned nearly 50 national championships, placing them fifth in the country and first in their conference. Of LSU’s sports, the most successful is undoubtedly women’s track and field. Together, the indoor and outdoor teams have amassed 19 SEC championships and 25 NCAA titles in less than 35 years.
