After the group disbanded in 1977, LaBelle launched a dominant solo career, scoring major hits including “If Only You Knew,” “New Attitude,” “Stir It Up,” “If You Asked Me To,” and the Grammy‑winning “On My Own” duet with Michael McDonald .
