I initially booked this hotel a couple of years ago through a special offer. Since then, it's the only hotel I choose when I visit Dublin, and I'm a regular visitor.
The best time to stay (especially if your a hurling fan) is any time that Kilkenny are playing at croke park and more specifically all Ireland weekend. It's absolutely buzzing, a fantastic atmosphere. But even if you're not a sports lover, this hotel is perfectly situated. The airport bus (747) drops and collects you directly outside the hotel. You are practically on o'connell street. 5 minute walk from restaurants, bars and shops the luas and Moore street, 15 walk from croke park and 15 mins away from Connolly station, busarus or heuston station. It is also very easy (10min train from Connolly station) to Aviva stadium.
The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet is well worth the money and the dinners in the bistro are delicious and reasonably priced!

From the moment of stepping into the hotel you felt welcomed and valued as a customer/guest. We arrived in the morning not expecting for one minute that we would be allowed to check into our room, but absolutely brilliant we checked straight in and into our room. I know it was luck that the room had not been used the previous night, but there are many hotels out there that would stick to their regulation of not letting anybody check in until whatever their checking in time is, so well done Maldron. Room was very clean and comfortable, and contained all what you need, toiletries, tea making facilities etc. We had breakfast the next morning, again superb, very good value; you helped your self to anything hot or cold and ate as much food or as you little as you wanted.

This hotel is in a perfect location. 15 minutes by taxi from the port @ about €15. There is a Tesco right across the street plus a chemist one block away. It goes without saying there is a ton of pubs , gift shops and cafes surrounding the hotel. I will definitely stay here again. Violet at the front desk made reservations for us and was a pleasure!

Monte Clare is a great hotel for the price and just a short walk from the center of Dublin. The front desks staff was exceptionally helpful helping us navigate around the city sites and even coordinated travel arrangements to Galway. Really a big help. The hotel's entrance looked quite clean and well kept. The rooms were as expected per the sites photos. The only (extremely minor) complaints I can possibly come up with is was lack of outlets near the bed & in bathroom and no washcloths. Other than that, it was a great place to stay!

A very comfortable hotel, set in a busy street in the heart of the tourist quarter. Difficult to access by car (one way systems, road works, bus lanes, rush hour, tourists etc) but I'd stay there again.
