"The Hideaway is a quaint cottage with outstanding cleanliness and amenities. The added touch of snacks waiting for us was so appreciated and welcomed. I also appreciated the flyers of local activities. Communication was excellent and very prompt…an added touch of hospitality. Neighbors were friendly and well accommodating while we were unloading. And York is a lovely city."

"A lovely stay in a cute old stable. Lovely provision of cereal, bread, butter, milk and coffee (including some for the cafetière for those like me who don’t drink instant). The fridge has a small freezer at the top which is great. The living room is double height and very comfy with underfloor heating, the bedroom is upstairs on the mezzanine. The owners have really thought about the things you need when staying away in self-catered accommodation and it shows! 10/10"

"We had a fantastic stay in Louise's gorgeous cottage. Beautifully decorated, luxury bedding, comfy beds and just 5 mins from centre of York. Check in was easy and Louise allowed us a later checkout which tied in nicely with our train home. We have all agreed that we would love to come back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cottage to others coming to York."

"Really lovely property and enough space for 5 of us. Everything was as described and clean. We had a fabulous 4 night stay and a great location. It was easy to get to York, McArthur Glen and Scarborough. We would definitely return, the owners are lovely and the bonus, a little farm shop."

"A fabulous property very quirky. Hosts left a fabulous hamper of goodies. Had a lovely Christmas tree & decorations. The only downside was as it was new year & obviously busy none of us had a wink of sleep for 3 nights! "The location is fabulous, the apartment is fantastic and amenities great. The beds were not great, very uncomfortable. They advertise luggage storage and before we checked in they stored our luggage and then took it to our room when the room was ready, that was awesome, but when we asked for luggage storage on our check out we were told we would have to pay. Staff were very friendly and helpful."
