“WOULD DEFO GO BACK!!!”

BERLIN IS THE BEST CITY I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO!! Woop woop!!. The hostel was very reasonable, we had a private room and everything was as expeceted. Clean, had single beds but could push them together to make a double. Location was brillant right next to main station and in a very trendy area of berlin. Only thing was lack of spirit within the hostel, staff seemed like they didnt want to be there and activities within the hostel were not promoted well. Over all - VERY PLEASED :) !!!!!!!!!!

“Good base for the sights”

If you want a good 'centre' from which to explore Berlin this is your base. In East Berlin, 3 min walk from Ostkreuz S Bahn, where a whole days travel, on any form of transport, costs about the same as a cup of coffee in the UK. Good sized, clean and comfortable rooms, en-suite and room service. Very pleasant and helpful staff. The only draw back is that there is no lift. Nevertheless a brilliant stay and we'd definitely go back.

A&O Hostel Friedrichshain is not too hard to find with a little experience of online map clients. The hostel caters for student types and travellers and is also surrounded by many shops, small eateries, trendy cocktail-bars and bohemian boutiques. The rooms are very clean and almost too minimalistic, I would have been a little bit annoyed at the lack of a television (which every room has according to expedia) if it wasn't for the brilliant time we had in Berlin itself.

It was a good place - clean, comfortable and an amazing location! right next to a metro station! Would def. recommend staying here!!

we booked this hostel last minute (as in a few days before we were due to fly out) we'd got a last minute deal for the flights so me and two firends went out to berlin. we got into the hostel at around 11.30pm, we got our keycards and went to the room!the rooms were amazing, so clean and big and the toilet was spotless. the staff directed us somewhere just up the road where we could get cheap pizza and drinks. they helped us with everything we needed to know, and they had a bar open til 1am...but when that closed you could carry on buying beer in the reception! all in all, it was amazing value for money, really clean and had really helpful staff!defiantley going back sometime!!

It is worth every penny and the subway is around the corner, and you can be anywhere in like 20 min tops.. Amazing location..

“Low cost, basic, and comfortable”

For the price i was expecting a lot worse of this hotel! But it was really clean, spacious rooms, and you just can't fault it one bit, i would not only stay there again but look at the rest of the A&O chain for other places because i thought it was absolutely fine! The only thing i would say to future travellers using this hotel/hostel - watch out on getting to it - you need the M13 tram, not the M10 (because they go different ways) and we got a bit lost trying to find it - but everyone was friendly enough to ask if you do get lost. Its a 5 min walk from the stop and is on a turning from the main road - so just keep your eyes peeled!

“You get what you pay for”

I chose this "hotel" as a place to stay while running the Berlin Marathon. It is right outside Ostkreutz S-bahn station, which is as close as you are going to get to the start point (for this price). However, the "hotel" parking is whatever curb you can find around the block. It is a hostel not a hotel, so if you don't book the entire room you may have to share with someone else. Friedrichshain is a student community so there is a LOT of drunken youth around (be glad or beware).

“Good location, avoid ground floor”

We had a twin on the ground floor of the 'hotel' - the curtains were see-through and passers by walked right past the windows til late at night til early morning, so best to ask that you don't get these rooms. This was the only downside. Loved the area, great transport links and good value for money.
