Nice resort with a great viewPosted May 19, 2014
Pros: Furnishings were clean and comfortable, the view was spectacular, and location was great.
Cons: There were a few areas of the room that needed some extra cleaning, but overall it was clean.
Location: There is the lake walk, the rose garden is close by as well.
I had stayed at this resort once before and liked the rooms aside from noisy neighbors in the room next door. This trip, I booked a single room facing the water for my boyfriend and I. I was pleasantly surprised when we checked in and were told we were upgraded to a nicer room for free. We were upgraded to a two room condo with a full kitchen and panoramic view of the lake! It was awesome! Overall, this is a nice resort located away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown but still close to main roads. The resort is close to the walkway by the lake, provides kayaks and bikes, should you wish to utilize them.

Needs some attention and fixing upPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: The hotel (with a little maintenance) would be very relaxing and luxurious. It's placed in a very beautiful spot along Lake Superior.
Cons: General maintenance and going over would be a great improvement. It just seems as if someone started not to care about the condition it used to be in.
Location: It is located on the shore of Lake Superior with direct lake access from the back door of the room. There are many restaurants and shops near by.
My fiance and I had stayed here a number of years ago and were very pleased with our stay. We just went again recently and experienced some serious issues. The door key sliders were very touchy and we were barely able to get into our rooms. At first, we were given the key cards to someone else's room which was occupied and resulted in a very awkward situation. Then the next cards we were given barely worked in any of the card operated doors. The sauna in the pool area did not work. The water faucet in our room sprayed everywhere. The fridge was in a very odd and inconvenient spot in our room. The sliding door to the outside (ground level) was unlocked and anyone would have been able to enter our room if we would have not of checked it. Overall, the place was wonderful years before when we stayed but this stay was a little disappointing. I believe the place just needs a thorough going over and some general maintenance to improve on its quality.

Perfect view to treat my wife.Posted Dec 22, 2013
Had a wonderful stay. For an evening getaway as a couple. The part that was unfortunate is taking showers the shower overflowed because the shower wall is not high enough. Bed was comfy. Great view and nice jacuzzi.

Unexpected great find!Posted Dec 1, 2013
My wife and I stayed at Beacon Pointe over thanksgiving, while visiting relatives. Suite was lovely - penthouse (meaning elevator to 3rd floor then stairs to 4th) with a small living room, a balcony, and a big bathtub, all with a great view of the lake. The bedroom had a great view of the I-35 off-ramp and the McDonald's up the hill, but we closed the shades and didn't notice it. No freeway noise at all. Room was clean, service was friendly. The pool was only slightly larger than the bathtub; don't expect to get exercise or wear out your kids in the pool. Small kitchenette but more than sufficient for our needs.

Weekend Getaway Unlocked!Posted Nov 25, 2013
Pros: I highly enjoyed the fireplace and the airjet tub. My husband liked watching the barges traverse Lake Superior.
Cons: The biggest disappointment in our stay was the shower jets. Too much pressure there and none in the showerhead even when they were turned off.
Location: Tour Glensheen Mansion. Don't pay for the expanded tour unless you're a huge history/art buff but seeing the mansion itself is worth is.
As we drove up to Beacon Pointe, my husband said, "I bet those are beautiful condos, too bad we're not staying there". I looked up and smiled and replied, "oh, but we are". Beacon Pointe is situated between two private condo/townhome buildings. It has a lake view, underground parking and a nice set of amenities. We chose a room with a fireplace and air jet bathtub. It was beautiful, one of the nicest places we've stayed. What you can't see from the pictures, each room is part of a set of rooms. So there are two sets of doors to get to your room, the one that closes the three rooms off of the main hallway and the one that leads into your private room. This cuts down immensely on hotel noise and made us wish that more hotels would do the same. We did not partake in the pool or exercise rooms. We did help ourselves to the continental breakfast (pretty run of the mill, standard setup). If you're coming during the winter months, bring something to slip in and out of to go out on the deck and enjoy the view.

Beautiful Views of the Lake, Peaceful and quiet!Posted Oct 29, 2013
Beacon Pointe is a wonderful place to stay. We have stayed there twice now and both times were just as great. The hotel rooms are very lovely with wonderful views. I really enjoy having a cup of coffee in the morning sitting out on the patio/ balcony reading a book and listening to the waves hit the rocks. The hotel is in a great locations, closet to a lot of restaurants and shops, but not in the main hussle and bussle. I would highly recommend Beacon Pointe to any friends and family.

Nice hotel with great view. Cramped room.Posted Oct 15, 2013
Beautiful location and view!! Our room was nice but felt cramped with a king sized bed and jacuzzi tub. Expected more space for the money we spent. Nice, quiet space for our honeymoon stay though.

Nice enoughPosted Sep 30, 2013
To start off I was in a hillside room- not a lakeview. The room was spacious and clean. I took advantage of the lawn chairs on the grass overlooking the lake. A beautiful view! Disappointed there wasn't a tub- only a shower.
