Approximately 900 people call Gardiner in Southwest Montana home.
Helena, the state capital, is situated about 130 miles (209 kilometers) northwest of Gardiner, while Big Sky is 35 miles (56 kilometers) to the northwest.
To see the wilderness for which Gardiner is known, head out to several of its popular ecological preserves. Among the most significant of these, are Mt. Washburn and Yellowstone National Park North Entrance. Bunsen Peak and Roaring Mountain are some of the other spots in the area.
